First I love Marvel. Been collecting Thor since I was a kid. Just finished the AvX series in graphic novel format. Not bad. Romita Jr.s' artwork is not to my taste. I miss Walter Simonson.

Anyway, here's my issue. They dump Wolverine in the Antarctic. You know, the big pile of ice, snow and land traversed by the likes of Perry, Shackelton, and Amundson. They have him killing a polar bear to wear as protection against the elements. Um there are no polar bears at the SOUTH POLE guys. Seriously? Didn't anyone check that one?

I'd say I'm done too but I also don't like the way Thor is being portrayed recently. He's a god. Phoenix power or not he should not be bested by Emma Frost. Period.

Okay, now I'm done.

Technically Thor is a Demigod.

I think the idea is the Phoenix is Cosmic-level, which Thor isn't. He did survive an impact on the moon after being punched by the Phoenix, mind you.

Yes, this is how they explain it in the movies. Not the books.

Thor as a god would be beyond cosmic level.

Well I haven't read a comic book in two decades.

No, it works like this: Gods THEN Cosmic Beings. Which means Odin can't harm Galactus to save his life. The Surfer, however, is roughly equal to Thor in ability. Phoenix seems to fall in there with Galactus, Fate and Eternity in the Marvel Universe. I mean, the other excuse is the writers make all this up on the fly, which would explain Marvel's lack of any form of coherence in their plots.

My original point was the inaccuracy in having POLAR BEARS in the antarctic. That's a major oversight on someones part.

I find it interesting that you are pointing out a lack of realism in a comic book about mutants vs various supernatural humans and a godlike being from an alternate realm who protects earth.

Just sayin
