Has anyone ever been to the Put-In-Bay Road Races? I have wanted to see this for several years and now that I have retired I have a chance.

I took my dad and middle son like 6 years ago. It was a cool, low key event, even ran into some of the GRM staff up there running a car. Probably my favorite part was the parade through the town of the race cars.
I would definitely put it on the list to check out. It's a very relaxed event, cool cars and people and you have to take a car ferry to get there. Pretty awesome.
The downside of the event is the timing, I'd say. It's always in the middle of the week so it's a bit of a pain. I've spectated once, raced once and I'm only like 1.5 hours from PIB because fitting a racing weekend into a week is tough. Not for a retired guy though.
It's also either a good or bad thing but at that point the island is pretty dead. It is peaceful but also sort of strange when you're grabbing coffee in the morning and the little town is like totally empty.
Definitely go. If I'm there this year you can find me with the big old blue truck and the multi-colored BMW next to it.
