Road trip accomadations

The summer road trip season is upon us. I thought that I would pass on some good places to stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, WI. The campfire out in front was awesome; as random hotel-goers stopped by and talked and drank beer with us. Walked to a greasy spoon around the corner and come back and new people to talk to. It had a cool '50s vibe to the whole place. I'd stay there again over the super nice resort place across the street (were the wedding was at we attended).

Anyone got a recommendation for a place to stay in Clemson SC for a football weekend? May attend a game there this fall and probably need to make a reservation soon.

A good nostalgic place to stay is the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo. Rooms are fairly priced and old, but clean and each one has a theme.

They also have the free 72-oz steak dinner, a killer breakfast buffet, and its near the Cadillac Ranch.
