My friend's father has a 2000 mustang gt with white oxford leather, and only 15000 kilometers, its never been driven in the rain, and is damn near perfect.
He believes that its worth $28,000. I disagree.
I said it was probably closer to $16,000, and then looked it up on kbb to get $9,875.
Your thoughts?
And to top it off he made fun of my geo.
Not cool.
I'd say about $10K - 11K
I watch the dealer auctions, where they go for about $7K
The car wasn't 28K new was it?
Since you list the mileage in kilometers, should we assume you are Canadian? If so, the "guess" of $10,000 or $11,000 needs to be adjusted for the local currency.
BTW, I have a 1992 Acura Integra with nearly 190,000 miles on it, I believe it's worth at least $2,000 as a trade on a newer car. Will I ever get that much? Not likely. Moral? What anyone thinks something is worth, and what it can be sold for are usually 2 different things.
It might be worth CAN$28,000 to him, but if he wants to ever sell it to anyone he should probably try for about half that, to start.
26,393.92 as of this morning. http://www.bloomberg.com/invest/calculators/currency.html
If he truly believes that it is worth $28K then I suggest that he contacts his insurance company to get a "stated value" policy. Otherwise, I think he will be sadly disappointed if his car is a total or near-total situation.
$28K?
How old is the Gold Plating?
i am glad to see i am not the crazy one.
Well, he was right to make fun of your Geo, the rest is craziness.
My brother in law just bought a 2002 GT convertible from Car Max for $12,000.
It had 50,000 real American miles on it.
