The shower stall in the master bath was not conducive to the order now and pay nothing later scenario. Was very pleased with install (extremely), but the privacy decal at the back window was no bueno. Looking for waterproof suggestions(blinds?) at this window to prevent pervanator from peering from across the west fence row.....Go

Something like this?  You buy it in rolls at Home Depot

Yes that's what I'm talking...this product did not adhere to the window in question. I am now looking for a waterproof Venetian blind thingy......

Wait.  You have a window in your shower?  Curious what this setup really is.

I like to put the privacy glass in backwards so I don't know who's getting the full fruit bowl show. Spices up my life.

I mean if they are surprised at what they see they shouldn't be looking.

They make frosted glass spray paint. That would hold up

Reminds me of an episode I saw of some reality show about a guy who relocates snakes in South Africa. So this South African wealthy family has fancy house, and in it as a bathroom with a shower that has a plain glass window looking out onto a yard. A private yard closed in with bushes, that only exists as a thing to look at while showering, so the window is no problem you see. Also the shower does not have a traditional drain, but a bit of PVC pipe that goes straight out into a garden bed in this little bathroom viewing yard. This is where the snake got in.

Gray water recycling is a thing.  Also a thing to prevent that happening.  Thanks for reminding me as I'm about to do the same.

I'm just imagining a window in a shower and then as time passes bad things happening to the wall, the window surround, et cetera.  It sounds like water sprays directly on a window in this situation and I'm just... I'm having bad flashbacks to a not great rental house I used to live in and the time the wall just fell apart.

Shower rod and curtain is a GRM solution. Window. Curtain. Go figure.

We have a glass block window in our shower. It's basically tile so it waterproofs the same way. We also sloped the sill so there's no standing water. And good for privacy. Not sure how retrofittable it would be.

Is that a new window?

It should have been tempered glass ($$$), and I'm surprised the salesman didn't offer translucent...

There is 3M UV reflective film which is designed to be installed on the exterior. That should work.

In reply to SV reX :

Wouldn't that reflective film only work for privacy if it's light outside? At night, you'll be able to see through to the lit bathroom.

We have exterior mirrored film on some of our windows and that's how it behaves.

Oops... yeah. Brain fart.

But there must be some translucent films that would stick when wet.

Still wondering if tempered (and newly installed). If not, I'd be going after the installation company for a proper tempered window (and change it to translucent)

My neighbor redid his upstairs bathroom, he put a piece of Noddaz's glass inside the window casing at an angle.  Flush at the bottom, 2-3" away at top but only ran a8" up.  Privacy and still get a breeze from the open window.

I just don't care, if you want to creep a 53yo dude in the shower more power to you. Wife may feel the same, except for the 53yo and the dude part.

Good afternoon, eggspurts.....this is the window in the bathroom that has the repondeez all fishmeckeled. This same window that had the decal treatment posted earlier which was unsuccessful. The missus and I are both now seeking a waterproof venetian blind for this window because......wait for it

This very same window is where Mr.Crackers has now found his favorite spot to perch. Hence the ability to raise and lower the window shade...... originally there was a shower curtain behind this window hiding a terkwois bath tub and a 8 inch terkwois step into said tub. Neither of which made it easy for the Missus to shower with two bad knees.....this new shower stall has made a world of a difference with a 2 1/2" step over. Guess who's way happy? Guess who's still working to make this happen?

On topic, I have a decent story.

One of my buddies dates a woman that does high end rentals, has to scope them out before the clients, singles and corporate. So my friend gets to go all over the place for free.

She rented som rich guy a house in Malibu for a week bur he only stayed a weekend doing whatever. So she said lets finish the week for free.

Well he woks with my and was in CA at the time so, hell yeah.

We had a very questionable fella that worked with us, really kinda odd. We called him "Spuds" and other potato things and the dude invited him along as they were on the same trip.

The house was in Malibu and you could see Harrison Fords house from across the valley from it. The bedroom and shower had glass looking over the valley.

Spuds got drunk as berkeley and my buddy, while taking care of congical business noticed ol' Spuds peering around a cactus watching. Did not care much and kept going.

They had a talk in the am haha.

So funny.
