Bought a set of these on sale from Eastwood, impulsive buy yea but been looking to bag a set for a while now.
For now I'll just be chuckin' these in a hefty bench vise w/ base swivel for portability so no pedestal mounts or foot operations yet. Bases are tapped M10 or 3/8" NC. The easy button in my brain says just drill some 2" angle w/ the base bolt pattern n chuck in vise.
What are/ would you guys use?
Lack of sleep and shortsighted here.
At work I have a steel semi wheel as a base with a large pipe welded to the center of it as a pedestal. I still have to stand on the back of it to keep it from tipping over sometimes.
At home I tried the vise and no matter what it slips. I then bolted it through the 3/4" plywood workbench top and promptly tore through that. There is a lot more force going on than I realized.
You will need a lot of free space around the throats so it kind of needs to dangle with nothing to the sides for a few feet.
I would use concrete anchors and build a simple version of this and bolt it to the garage floor
HF - Stand for Shrinker and Stretcher Machines
You could probably "make your own" a whole lot cheaper and better.......

Haven't tried using it yet. So a bench or vise mount is definitely out?
I do have a stout pedestal mount for a tubing bender... outside. Maybe hafta to try that.
Pedestal mount for tubing bender. 400 lbs. concrete plus rebar in base. Outside but oughta work w/ a little adapting. Now to figure out a mount to have both units usable w/o changing bodies for one mounting point.
really would never have thought I'd need all that, thought the vise would handle it.
thnx

(sorry for the off topic)
(regarding your avatar) : "Do you realize the street value of this mountain!?"

Note the signature I am using right now as well.

While overkill it will be perfect! Just slap one on and try it out.
This is what I tip over regularly. I just stand on the back or have someone else do it.
Been using the vice for years. Till they go to regular use status, it will stay that way.
Have to say that once you get used to having them, you dont want to live without.
