We went to see the movie tonight. They had the two haulers and funny cars parked outside the theatre in Birmingham, Mi. While it's obviously a low budget film it was also entertaining for someone my age (61) who can remember when McEwen and Prudhomme were racing. The cameos were good fun. I don't think a lot of the folks in the audience caught them. Go see it when it comes to your town.

Thanks. Will watch for it.
Missed Senna. Will. Not. Miss. This.
Bump. For those that didnt see it (like me) this just came out on DVD/Blu Ray this week.
My local Walmart had the DVD for $9 and Blu Ray for $14.
Buy it in time for your family get togethers this weekend. Your Mother will love it (maybe)
I just got the DVD - Watching it tonight.
Looked it up on IMDB. Apparently they use actual race footage rather then recreations. That is good. With the budget of the movie, recreations would have been rather bad.

I grew up w/ it too. It's on my must see list.
It was running at a local theater in conjunction with the US nationals on labor day weekend last year and we (SWMBO and I) went and watched it on the last night they showed it. I didn't know if I'd ever get to see it so I made sure to go. I'm glad they released it on DVD/Bluray.
Since the wife gets the kids stuff for Easter and I end up getting nothing and since she sent me to Wally World for Texas Toast this morning for some breakfast dish for Sunday School tomorrow, and since it was the worst day to go to Wally World as the cars were parked to the end and as they say in the south "Walmart was covered up"; I convinced myself that I deserved a $10 gift and bought it.

I knew enough about Don Prudhomme before the movie, but Tom McEwen I knew very little about. I kinda wish more movies would be done (even if they're low budget) about some of the characters that helped make drag racing, and other motorsports, what it is today.
After attending the World of Wheels with my buddy - our next step was the drag races in Union Grove, Wisconsin (Broadway Bob). I evolved into Indy cars then I fell into attending June Sprints and Vintage Racing at Road America.
After watching this movie I might have to attend a drag race at Route 66 this summer....I have to admit I liked how they pieced in some of the original film from the old days.
Can you imagine a full budget film about "Jungle" Jim Liberman?
In reply to Appleseed:
I get stuck thinking of who would play "jungle" Pam
Shanon Elizabeth?
Not played for laughs, I could see John C. Reilly as Jungle.
