First big swap meet of the year at the state fairgrounds Sunday morning.  I'm pretty much done looking for car parts but it's still fun to browse.  I may pick up the odd wrench or two, or a vintage magazine.  There's also a vintage toy show going on there at the same time so I'll check that out too.

Day 4 of retirement, trying to beat the back yard into shape.

Sharp readers will note the tree fell perpendicular to the direction of the load strap. Some things should be left to the pros.

Another Saturday morning, another British car club meet-up. This week at club member Bruce's fantastic garage. Bruce has a recently completed MGB conversion to V8 power that he contracted out to somebody in Vancouver, BC, of all places. He's in East Greenwich, RI. Lot of miles in between. There were a few niggling problems that we addressed today: headlight problem, leak in the exhaust header, faulty fuel gauge, and emergency brake issue. All teething problems. Our club has some great, knowledgeable and enthusiastic members, and we solved all problems, had coffee and doughnuts, lots of camaraderie, and most importantly, Bruce was happy and we all had fun. And it's a beautiful car!

The boy wanted to watch some Star Wars so I let him pick which one.  I must have trained him well because he chose episode 5.

That is a nice car.  I remember thinking the late-model dash was pretty atrocious compared to my '72, but that has aged a lot better than memory would suggest.  And  they say it's much easier to backdate the bumpers and ride height on a rubber-bumper car than it is to make a V8 fit in a chrome-bumper car.  Something to think about next time I find myself idly browsing Craiglist.

Did a Star Wars Day group ride through downtown Toronto. A fun cruise, I would say it was worth the stress of driving to the start taking a month off my life cheeky

Instead of playing with cars and motorcycles as planned, I spent most of the weekend trying to tame the savanna that our yard as become. I got a pretty noticeable reminder why I usually pay someone to do this as I'm massively allergic to the grass in our yard.

Unfortunately it looks like the day(s) my lawn guy is usually available are going to be rained out again this week so guess who gets to huff some more very sneeze-inducing pollen? I guess I might try wearing an N95 mask on my next attempt.

It's been a rainy weekend so my favorite places weren't crowded. Also, there's some sort of holiday going on too. That helps.

Just finished photographing our Humane Society's Furry Skurry 5K and 1mile, 1st time breaking out the Nikon since last year's event.  They had some small barn animals available for playtime & caught this.

I burned a couple auxiliary light tabs and a ring for my winch hook onto the Tacoma's front bumper today. Tomorrow we are taking the '68 Ghia to a Make-a-Wish car show/run.

We put a fresh "race-ready" (good enough for autocross and hillclimbs anyway) TR-6 engine in BMCNE club-member Howie's beautiful street TR-6. Just four of us ... the do-er's. It was a very productive day. I can't wait to hear this engine fire-up. (The engine builder stopped by to watch the installation of "his baby").

I should say that Howie (royal blue shirt) has a beautiful, spacious, well-equipped garage/barn that made this "somewhat" easy. Club President Tom (left) and Treasurer Jim (right). Do we look tired? We are. 😁

the machine says it'll handle 3" diameter but I kept anything above about 2-1/2" to burn in the solo stove. Made enough natural mulch to do the entire hedge row.

i guess this is what retired people do. 🤘🏻
