As stated by everyone else, laws vary from state to state.....Here in Indiana, they're a threat no matter what.....just don't shoot someone in the back as that'll lead to some issues. Expect your weapon to be booked into evidence for awhile and lots of fun reports with the police.
Always, always, always remember, you fired until there was no longer a threat to yourself or loved ones.
