I have a couple of these racks on the round carousel that's in the corner cabinet I use for all my spices:
Note that this cabinet is NOT located next to or above my stove or dishwasher (you don't want heat) but it is a quick pivot-and-reach away from the stove so I can adjust food to taste before serving.
I keep my knives in a knife block.

We had one of these broom bristle type knife holders, works great. Take the broomy thing out once in a while and shake it out.
That's cool, I like that alot.

For more biggerer, they have magnetic doohickeys with clear tops. Put a piece of steel on the wall, voila.
These look cool but work terribly. We had them. The lids and windows don't fit tightly enough to keep the spices fresh. And certain spices corrode the galvalume metal and after a while those containers fuse shut. We bought a whole bunch of these and tried them for about a year but eventually we just wrote them off and went with Tupperware modular mates and carousel in a cabinet near the prep area.
Really? That's disappointing, im quite a fan of them. Any particular spices cause problems? Are you in a particularly humid area?

I'm lousy with the internets, but will try to explain one I saw and liked. Shallow wooden box, hinged at the back. screwed to the bottom of cabinets so that it was basically invisible when closed, opened down to approx. 45 degrees to display spices. Really neat.
Google: "Under cabinet Spice Rack" and a number of variations will pop up.
All of mine occupy about half of the top level of the corner cabinet lazy-susan. More efficient storage will definitely be a line item when I renovate my kitchen.

All of our spices are standing upright on a shelf in the cabinet. Might sound cliche or simple but it seems to work.

I haven't gotten anything fancier than disposable salt and pepper since I've moved.
Wosthofs are in their block, cheap steak knives are in the utensil drawer.

Just spoke to my kitchen guy. Im getting a knife drawer made up, hopefully I can section off Half of it for some shallow Spice containers to.
I'll probably leave some of the larger containers in the pantry, outside of that I'll see what's left needing a home and work out a way to keep them on hand.

Mostly the red pepper based ones. We bought a bunch of them and really wanted them to work out, but at least the ones we got weren't good.

Ok, thanks. I think I'll get a few to try, but I won't rush out and buy heaps based on that.
