In the Elton John song, "Someone Shaved my Wife Tonight", or something like that, there is a line, "I'm strangled by your haunted social scene".
Is "Haunted Social Scene" a band, or a phrase Bernie invented, or a common saying somewhere?
Thread could also be titled, "Waste of time".

I know Broken Social Scene is a band from Canadia. But that song predates them by several decades.
In reply to Streetwiseguy :
I got many guffaws off, "Someone Shaved my Wife Tonight" and have never heard it before. Now, I will never hear it any other way!
Right up there with, "...hold me closer Tony Danza..."
In reply to Duke :
That must be the band I'm thinking of. I wouldn't be shocked if it was a Bernie original.

He apparently had an early version of a random word generator. None of it makes much sense.
Never realized the passing hours of evening showers
Slip noose hanging in my darkest dreams
I'm strangled by your haunted social scene
Just a pawn outplayed by a dominating queen
It's four o'clock in the morning
Damn it listen to me good
I'm sleeping with myself tonight
Saved in time
Thank God my music is still alive
(aah-aah-aah-aah-aah...)
I am still trying to figure out the Pearl Jam song: 46 virgins on a pelican.
Elton was engaged / living with a woman he didn't love. Bernie had a room in the same house, so saw what was happening and wrote about it.
Elton apparently tried to commit suicide and, after his attempt failed, a friend 'rescued' him from the situation.
I think if you listen to it as someone escaping from a bad relationship, it makes more sense.
