That's tonight by the way.
Anyone staying up for it?
My wife is flying back in from the SCCA convention so I'll probably be up till midnight or so.

#1 What's a Super Moon
#2 What's a Blood Moon
#3 When CST?
Cold, but clear where I am and in one of the few untreed sightlines I have so good viewing but what is it and when?
The start of the total is 11:41 EST, so 10:41, peak at 12:12 and ends 12:43 EST.
Blood moon is that the earth does not shade 100%, so there's enough light to make the moon red.
Very obvious now. Probably 20% covered and you can start to see the color. Doesn’t photo well with an iPhone zoomed all the way in.
Watched the last half hour through a telescope. Bad ass. Chicagoland usually gets skunked with celestial events. Tonight is clear as a bell.
And cold as balls. It's 0 out right now.
Super cold and super clear here in Columbus. Looks awesome. I can see more stars than usual too. Not that it’s a lot, being inside the city limits and all, but it’s some.
Did anyone else see a little green tinge to the west northwest of the moon? It looked like a tiny green flame or aurora. I texted a friend and he thought he saw something but he has more light pollution where he’s at.
This is as good as my potato phone could do. It's much darker and redder in person. Super cool.
I can see how people long ago would have been completely freaked out by an event like this.
