Has anyone tried the actor Hugh Jackman's "Laughing Man" coffee? It's twice as expensive as what I buy so I haven't.
So, after reading all of these posts about awesome coffee, I decided to give something other than my usual Jacob's Gold instant a try.
Amazon delivered an Aeropress and a grinder this afternoon. Naturally I had to try it out. A run to Walmart got me a couple of different beans. Since the Aeropress is too small for my morning to go cup, I also picked up a 8 cup French Press.
This afternoons trial was with Peet's Coffee, Major Dickerson's Blend. Never heard of it before, I just liked the looks of the bag. I didn't use a super fancy formula, just hot water of some unknown temperature, and #4 on the automatic grinder with a medium corse grind. It was outstanding. Like really outstanding.
I might have to get up 5 minutes early tomorrow to give the French press a try.
I've ordered from bones coffee a few times. It's very good but very expensive. Was recently gifted a grinder so I've started grinding my own beans and man I can't believe the difference that makes
I've been working my way through 5lbs of CoffeeAMs Mocca Java for the last couple of weeks.
I'm pretty sure that's what kept me alive overseas and my wife keeps complain about how potent it is.
I used the French Press this morning. Also with the Peet's Major Dickerson's blend. Also pretty good stuff. Pretty potent this morning. I like strong coffee but I might need to back off on the steep time a little.
My favorite beans come from a local place called Hemisphere that imports all kinds of crazy stuff from around the world. Otherwise, Kroger brand light/medium roasts are fine.
Honestly though, I’m not too picky. I work nights, so pretty much anything with caffeine is good with me.
This thread is really increasing my want for a French press and aeropress
