WOOHOO!!
Girl got PAID today! Oh yeah, that's right, unh-huh unh-huh. YEAH.
I took a vacation day today, saw Blackberry Smoke live last night and have been watching the Simpson's marathon and playing video games all day. Man this feels good to be lazy.
Not only did I find out my promotion was official, I found out they also backdated it to the 1st. And we made numbers this month with a 12% increase over last year
About to set out on my first group bike ride of the season. I'm bummed that I waited this long to get something together, but I'm absolutely delighted that I finally got off my ass and got something lined up.
We found out today that my S-I-L is having twins. All after my M-I-L was pestering my wife about grandchildren. Careful what you wish for.
My mom got out of surgery early! She went in yesterday at 5am, they had her done by 8:30am, and she even gets to come home today (24 hours later)
Medicine and science are amazing things.
I just paid a young family of three's breakfast bill without them knowing. Just felt like a random act of kindness. Wish I could have seen their faces but wanted to split before they found out who did it. Man I feel good today.
Wow, this thread was buried all the way back on page 12
Anyways, I made it to Idaho with only a couple of snags. The Wrangler did great, even after filling the camper up with crap from my storage unit and driving another 1200 miles. I've been here for a week. Everyone I have met has been super friendly and very supportive of the military. I love the weather here (yes, even the crazy wind). I also found a great house with an awesome garage (main selling point ) for less than I was expecting. I work with some awesome people.
I really believe this will be the end of the horrible past 5 years
More thankfulness. As I sat blearily drinking my coffe this morning I got a call from my boss. Problem at work I need to come in and attend to......
I get dressed and zoom in in my freshly washed answer (no traffic on a Sunday morning). Fix the problem in about 30 seconds and zoom back home. We have a two hour minimum for OT calls which makes my hourly rate on the day pretty darned impressive
Now off to grandmas house for early turkey day festivities!
Last night I went to see Slipknot and Korn, it was my first time seeing either and my first live show in nine years. My voice is hoarse, my head is pounding, and I can't hear a damn thing, but damn was that fun! I can't wait to do it again!
I just got a Christmas bonus at work that I had no clue was coming. Unexpected money will always put me in a good mood.
Going home tomorrow, and my little brother gets out of the hospital tomorrow after a nasty bicycle accident. Thanksgiving will mark the first time I've seen him since last Christmas.
Five days off, Thanksgiving through Monday (buck season opener). Plant maintenance was scheduled every day, some triple time days. No thanks, any time spent away from work is time well spent.
I Dusted off the Garand and the K98 for my first trip to the range in about 5 years!
I shot like absolute crap, but you couldn't scrape the smile off my face with a road grader.
Daughter showed up kind of not planned. Now that was ausom but she brings with her all the ingredients to make home made egg not and vanilla flavored rum. For those that have not had home made egg not you have to try it. You will never have the store bought again. Completely ausom!!!!
Had an interview yesterday (two actually, but only one I'm interested in). Went very well. An hour later, I get a call from the HR lady saying that two of the people who interviewed me wanted to talk today, as they felt they didn't get enough time.
Today, I was assuming that the call was going to be more questions from them about me, my background, and my skills... Nope, they wanted to make sure that I had enough of my questions answered. Very good sign, and I am cautiously optimistic about this.
I picked up a 2007 Saturn Ion this fall for $500 with a bad clutch. Fixed that out only to find cylinder #4 sitting at 30psi. Swapped in a much lower mileage engine and all seemed good for a day then I had a no start issue. I spent hours chasing electrical gremlins only to eventually discover a poor factory solder joint in the ignition system. Ten minutes with a soldering iron and all is well. I'm guessing we bumped it during the engine swap and caused it to fail. I'm just happy I found the problem and got the thing on the road.

Woot! Got an offer, better than I had asked for, and most of the benefits are phenomenal. And those that aren't, are pretty decent.
