After months of watching Craigslist and missing on some pretty decent deals, I scored -er I found and my cousin scored for me, a Miller 140 Autoset for $275. Need a bottle, gloves, helmet and cart for starters but I'm stoked. Can't wait to learn to weld!

After 6 months not working due to neck injury and subsequent surgery to fuse c4-5, I just completed my 3rd day back at work. I'm sub-contracting in a shop that builds high end street rods and as soon as I told them I was ready to work again I was back to work! Current projects are a 40 Ford coupe and a 50 Ford coupe, both on Fatman chassis.
today was a good day. Figured out some stuff at work. My oldest son (Autistic) stood up to some girls that were picking on him in front of the class and shamed them to no end to the point the whole class shamed them. Got to meet Bernie Sanders tonight and asked the final question of his Town Hall meeting.
Not a bad day, not a bad day at all.
worked 13-1/2 hours today with a 10 minute lunch - stressed to the max but got info my friend won a court case today as I pulled into my garage - what a blessing!!

My oven stopped working last weekend while I was up playing in the Mountains with the Mini. I did some troubleshooting and determined that the issue was with the control board. Ordered a new board Tuesday, it came today, installed it and now I have an oven again. It's one of those combined oven/microwave combos with the microwave stacked on top of the oven. Stove top is separate over on the island. $160 well spent. Now I get to try to figure out what component actually failed on the old board if I can and if I can fix it I can have a spare. I also got to go swimming in a pool, went on two boat rides, one to get dinner, did a little work on my son's bike and also did a little actual work for my job. Good day.

I put summer wheels on my.winter car.
AC in the house died today. It's supposed to be 73, it's 77.
I drug the old portable unit out of the garage. All the parts were where they belonged. It's hooked up and actually working. It's dropped the temp in the house 2 degrees so far. It's not so hot outside that it can't keep up. That will buy me some time to crunch some numbers and make a few decisions. Life is good when emergencies are not emergencies.
Been waiting for a few select jobs in my trades at my fav facilities to roll around like they usually do every six months or so. After about nine months... nothing.
Out of the blue a new job appeared, had the interview this morning, thought it went well. Pristine facility, my old commute I drove for over 25 years, money way better than expected... could be the dream job to finish out my career.
Stoked.
Fingers crossed.

I picked up a frame rail from Conrad Lozier, I'm going to meet up with cousins who I haven't seen in a while on Saturday, and I'm hopefully having my car on the road by the end of the month.
We have found someone to fill an empty position at work, which means that I will get to go to a 4-day work week and finally get off night shift! WOOT!
Rites of Spring on the platter and a Portland Brewing S.M.A.S.H. (which is a damn fine brew) in my hand.
I wonder what I'll play next.
I leave for One Lap today. I'm impossibly excited.

It seems like my mission of bringing reasonably priced race fuel and E85 to Alberta is finally paying off!
In 2 days I've sold 16 barrels of E85 and it looks like I need to get another roadtrip to Wisconsin lined up to bring back some more Fuse Race Fuel
I'm so excited to be getting this off the ground!
Heading out at 3am to walk up a large hill. First real hike of the season; Hopefully we will catch the sunrise from the false summit of Dog Mountain in just a few short hours.
Quite excited for this little adventure.
Got my truck doing truck stuff. Table saw almost done. Family is happy, and I got approval from the wife to throw her and the munchkin out for the day so I can crank up the stereo and get work done around the house. Im excoted.

Picked up a Linde VI 206 mig off Craigslist for $200. Cleaned it up and just need hose for the argon and it should be good to go. It came from a company upgrading all their welders.
Looking forward to two days of, relaxing on the deck with John Denver and some sipping bourbon.

I thought John Denver died in a plane crash a few years ago.
Beer Week is finally over as of last night! I spent the whole day in the houses doing as little as possible. Basically made a giant thing of sangria, sat around in pajamas, and watched TV or played video games.

I think he means recordings of John Denver....
w00t! I got accepted for a new job today! I start in mid-June, which gives me a little time off once my current job is outsourced at the end of May. Knowing I will be gainfully employed once this crappy job is over is a huge load off.
