Every minute i work today is time and a half. I finally found my vintage craftsman drill press. And it's fun car Friday. Hell yeah.
Finally got plates on the X Type project. It sailed through the state inspection and just got back from my first real test drive. What a great car.
I only worked a half day, and then took the wife out on the boat to lunch. Then came home and did a little paddle boarding. Other than failure to wear sunscreen it was a good day.
Had a Swing and Blues Dancing exchange in town this weekend. Three days; three bands; over 200 people; and about 24 hours of possible dancing. I made new friends, hosted guests from out of town, and of course danced with lots of very fun women. I am delightfully exhausted. Got complemented on my attire for the last evening of the event. Venues were frickin' hot, so I decided to wear a kilt, which is tons of fun while dancing.
Final afternoon picnic, I also tried to see if I could swing dance in roller skates. I succeeded surprisingly well after a little practice.
Told the credit card company to charge off their mistake or I would close the account. They charged it off and gave me a credit extension to keep me as a customer.
Tipping my imaginary hat to all the cc threads here because no one but GRM teaches you this E36 M3.
Chased the no spark condition in the Soul. No power at the crank sensor. Hell, no power anywhere under the hood. Found a bad main ECU relay. Replaced it with a spare standard relay from my toolbox and the car fired right up.
Found the carb for the mower about a mile from my house. Spotted it just as a Semi rolled over it. Decided not to risk dodging traffic for a piece of pot metal that is now decidedly out of spec. Found a replacement on amazon for $18.
Not a bad turnout considering last night was pretty rough.
The first good day in a while. From time to time I need to help the wife with her stroke support group. She has been working on getting guest speakers from time to time, usually doctors and therapists but she was looking for something different and entertaining. She had seen a comedian, John Kawie, online that had a stroke and sent him an email to see if he would be interested. He said he would as long as we could arrange a ride for him and his wife. We pressed the Buick into chauffer duty this morning and had a really good time. He and his wife could not have been nicer people. Very funny and friendly talking with all of us and even sticking around for lunch.

Me too! (A couple months back.)
Here is the particular photo that confused my mom:
I finally worked the spooky out of the suspension in the elky. In the process of doing this and that, reset the ecu from where I had dialed in the timing. Whole different truck.
Yesterday I taught my niece to weld, fixed the floors in her truck, got it test driven again, and saw what a wonderful young person she is turning into.
And the radio station in the shop has been hitting it out of the park.
Im in a damn good mood.
Nice relaxing day with the kids and SWMBO down in the Red River Gorge national park.
We probably hiked about 5 miles and saw three different natural bridges. Perfect weather, nice picnic, kids old enough to carry the backpacks allowing dad to be free and easy.
Enjoy your Memorial Day everyone!
I got three days off from work and my wife sent my friend and I to the NASCAR Hall of fame. I drove to VA after work, I'm camped out in a nice room in a Hyatt I got for $50 on Priceline and tomorrow we head to Charlotte. The Buick got about 38mpg, and I didn't hit any traffic.
MR2 friend installed my new muffler and cat on the SC MR2 last night, didn't even want a free pizza for it. Date night tomorrow with SWMBO, and that also starts a four day birthday weekend...
One of my subordinates contacted a local grocery store chain near our homestation about maybe sending a care package with some goodies in it. It arrived today.
The package weighed 56lbs! It was stuffed with jerky, sunflower seeds and enough candy to feed a small country. It cost them $115 for postage! In the box was a card with hand written personal messages from their corporate managers.
I was blown away. In my 14 years in the military, I have never seen that level of generosity. I am truly humbled by the graciousness of that company. Amazing.
First-ever Sangria Night here at the crib last night was a smash hit. I made 4 types (about 1-1.5 gallons each) and have none left!!

Well tell us who it was so we can support them!
I bought a Honda Ridgeline on Friday, listed my Hyundai Santafe on Craigslist this morning. Sold it this afternoon and got very near my asking price.
I sold my condo after less than a week on the market. I have a bunch of documents to scan and send to my lender, and then I can be out of this E36 M3hole finally. There was a time when I thought this would never happen.
