I know I'm not the only one here that watches MCM. I figured we could have a discussion thread. What you like, what you don't, etc.

If you're not up to date, Moog and Marty had a turbo car budget competition and Moog got a Saab and Marty got a Sex-Spec Mitsubishi Lancer with an aftermarket turbo.

After their competition, Marty decided to keep the Lancer and deconstruct it back to an actual track car.

This has been one of my favorite builds in a long time.

I'd forgotten about that show. Well... now I've got something to tie up my attention for a while.

Wow, those guys have come a long way over the years. That show has gotten seriously much higher production quality.

I am infuriated that I cannot buy their transit van in the US. If I could get a 6 speed 3 seat transit that could tow 5k lbs I would run to my local Ford dealer.

You know, the prototypes for the US market actually had manuals in them, but everyone who tested them said that they would have preferred automatics.

I just re-watched Kei to the City and the Making of. Were is the Drift Turd? And damn them for Chasing Midnight. I irrationally lust for a Mark II Cressida with Takeyari exhaust.

When I bought my Transit connect in 2010 the only forum I could find for it was in the UK. When I posted about my TC on the forum, I had ~20 people who were envious of my automatic. They would love to have an automatic for running around in the cities over there.

I thoroughly enjoyed Gramps/Super Gramps, but I believe the turbo Subie Beetle is my favorite so far. The super charged JDM spec "classic" Mini is up there too.

I, too, am a huge fan of Marty and Moog. (I often wonder if he got that name from the synthesizer or the company that makes suspension bits.)

I primarily love them because they don't take themselves too seriously. Most of their projects are GRM-worthy, but when it's time to spend the money on cars like the supercharged Mini, they spend what needs to be spent.

The other thing I like is how n00b-friendly they are. They will tell people what mods are ricey, lame, or do more harm than good. Then they tell you WHY.

I would assume it's the synth. Apparently the Internet's say he is a pretty accomplished electronic music artist (much of the music in the videos is his if you pay attention to the credits) and the internet says both he and Marty have musical degrees/backgrounds.

I hadn't really gotten excited about them until the last 6-8 months. I like that they get the experts when they need experts and aren't unwilling to make mistakes. I also appreciate their humor. I also find the toosexy theme song to be fantastic.

That beetle slayed me. Watching it squat and and bolt....hilarious. i don't think the beetle even knew what it was doing.

I still like mod max the best. The beetle was neat but i have a weird thing for air cooled vw so it dissapointed me. Its what i watch if there is no new roadkill or aussie racer.

The 2Sexy theme song is actually in the top 100 songs on the Australian iTunes charts, and is #10 on the Australian iTunes Dance charts, along with #23 on the Canadian dance charts. Crazy, huh?

It's been years since I've watched anything from them. I need to fix that. The last thing I remember was them putting springs on some little hatchback thing.

I got banned form their forum because one of the mods confused me for somebody else. Fun stuff. I'm liking where this Lancer thing is going though.

The best part about it, is that they made the song as a joke for the show, but too many people bugged them for the real thing.

They think people who don't know what Team Evo is, are going to be wondering where this song came from.

Well, there was supposed to be a Mighty Car Mods/Roadkill crossover this summer, it was even mentioned in Hot Rod Magazine that Freiburger was looking forward to it. But then a few weeks ago MCM posted on Facebook that they hadn't heard anything from the Roadkill guys in a few months regarding the idea.

Watch the making of Kei to the City. MOOG says the the soundtrack was on the charts in most of the world and it was #1 on the electronic charts.
