Had a '78 Malibu Classic purchased new by my parents. My brothers and I learned to drive on that car; wished I could improve on the 305 2-barrel and 2.41 gears (no posi). Also was comfortable for long distances Would love to have it back and build it the way I would have ordered it (Dad was a bit austere with the options).
Got to use it during my college years (late 1980's); I was the guy they called for beer runs. Official capacity behind the rear seat: 5 half-barrels, 100 pounds of ice and 2 tubs. Never had to pay for my own beer for over 2 years.
Another wagon that will probably not be found in the US (or anywhere in the world now) the Fiat 131 Wagon.

My wife and I had dinner with some old college friends (from the 70s) a few weeks ago. The conversation rolled around to a Fiat 131 wagon they bought new. She said it was a miserable car that would not run and could not be fixed. Fiat sent a expert from Jacksonville who couldn't fix it. BTW John Finger was the service manager and he and my friend were on a first name basis.
