Bill maybe you can help me?

My colleague is in Budapest now(she and two her daughters are refugees), she's a psychologist and she works with children-refugees.

She needs stationery(office supplies) for activities for children

Maybe you or anyone else who you know can help her with it

Reading those individual stories is a little heart breaking. I am hoping these families can find peace in their world as soon as possible.

Yes it's suddenly very dusty in here and I can't read them to my wife for some reason. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah.  I wish they weren't needed, but glad they were sent.

It's tough.

I was at a park with my kids a week after all this started and I got to wondering how many people were doing the same thing just one week prior, and where they might be at that very moment.  Luckily, I had a dog with me that needed to be "walked elsewhere" (seasonal allergies, and all that).  All these people had careers, hobbies, and normal lives one month ago...

I 100% can  help and would be happy to do so.  I've sent you an e-mail so you can share the details of what's needed and where I can drop them off.

I'll be driving to Lviv on Saturday, so stopping in Budapest to drop off supplies will be no problem at all.

The truck?  Well, I got the oil changed but not much else.  I still have a few days before the big drive, so hopefully I'll take care of the few remaining items on the list.  Don't worry though, she's as reliable as the sunrise, so we can defer the maintenance a bit.  It reminds me though that you're just a short drive away and I have a poor sense of self preservation.  There's always room in the truck so don't wait until it's too late to call me if you need to get out of there.

The mayor got his magazine!!!

Ok guys, sorry for the long weekend.  Here's the delivery for last Thursday's event.  Katie was in attendance as I had to work, but the magazine made it just in time for delivery (side note:  One more stuffie, two soccer balls, one basketball, and lots of chocolate were delivered from their respective GRM sponsors as well)

Here's the photo dump:

Happy Easter everyone.

Mrs. Hungary got the rest of our medical supplies in late last week.  Tourniquets, Israelis bandages, pulse ox meters, catheter kits, trache kits, suture kits... a whole bunch of stuff normal people don't buy.

This is in addition to the previous boxes I posted and I'm currently working on getting batteries in anything that needs it and getting everything inventoried and translated for the border crossing (so I may not be on here much this week).  We've got about $150 left in the budget to spend and are going to use it to purchase drinking water and some more canned food.  On Saturday, first thing in the morning, we are "East bound and down!" laugh

If this delivery goes well, we've got a fundraiser planned to help us make a bigger one in June (I am beyond excited, but dont want to jinx it).

Fingers crossed.

This is all way too awesome.  More proof that there are MANY great people out there, more great people than loud bad people.

Bill, if you need or can use some more money in the "refugee" piggy bank, just let us know. Im in for more $. You will do far more impressive things with the $$ than i will!

also can we do a amazon wishlist for you and the refugees or will that not work?

Thanks for all you are doing air.  I'm so happy the kids were able to have Easter and do normal things like coloring eggs.  This has got to be a huge relief for the parents to have the moments of normal in such a turbulent time.

Stay safe on your roadtrip sir.  Thinking of you and your family.

Thank you and will do, sir!  Unfortunately I do not have an amazon account, but Katie does.  I'll ask her if she minds us commandeering her account for such a thing.

100%.  I really do like that Mayor Kozma and the Kisgorbo shelter are doing continuous small things for these families. It's just....  awesome.  And exactly what I would hope to do if I were in his shoes.

Unfortunately I've got a bit of an update on the road trip as things continue to develop:  Now it looks like I'm being re-routed through Bratislava to cross into Ukraine at the Slovakian border due to some local political developments here in Hungary.  This doesn't mean much more to us than one extra hour of drive time but, unfortunately what that means for Vikki is I may no longer be driving through Budapest to deliver donations to her friend who does art therapy there.

To fix that, I'm reaching out locally and think we can gather supplies and still have them delivered within about a week.  Here's an idea of what we'll be purchasing:

(Screen clipping shamelessly cut from our e-mails)

I'm still working out the details, but something like the below may also be an option:

Either way, I've had a look at our GRM paypal account and we have enough donated this month to send 50-100k (huf) worth of supplies to support Vikki's friend and still have enough to donate half-a-mil again to Mayor Kozma on the 25th.  We'll keep you all posted as we progress.

Cheers guys.

Awesome!!!!

I saw Ira's whatsapp messages around midnight when I got back to my hotel (and finally got data service).  I was so glad that worked out!!!

I'm sure Carrie would love to attend an event held by Ira.  Carrie is an art/music teacher at the local English school and has been a huge supporter for everything that's happened so far.  When I couldn't work out a route that got me through Budapest, I immediately thought of her.

Let us know when those supplies run low, we're always here and happy to help wink
