I vote 9-7x Aero because Trailblazer SS is awesome. Weird Swedish drag queen Trailblazer SS is awsome-r. Plus those are pretty damn rare from my understanding.

The running/driving Silverado with a built motor is definitely the smarter move though.

While I sit and muse, things come and go. SS sold, Falcon sold.

But this appeared. M52 swapped. Gutted. Needs to have the swap finished. I know nothing of E30's, buit I like the look and its cheap.

Probably cost more than you think to finish.

E30 parts are cheap. Those things handle fantastic. Finishing that swap tho'...

Falcon is sold I know but I'm the admin of FB "Forgotten Falcons" group. Just a few points on 3rd gen Falcons for those who may be interested. They are not the same as the earlier cars or Mustangs. They share the platform of the 66-67 Fairlane. The engine bay is bigger and will accept almost anything where you'd be hard pressed to drop an FE in an early Falcon without cutting a lot of metal. Suspension and steering is better than the early cars too. They are a totally 'forgotten' car of the 60s and can be picked up pretty cheap these days. Downside is very few parts are reproduced for them. You'll never find a good dash pad. They are all missing the front hood molding because the clips are unobtainium. Floors/toe boards are usually first thing to rot out. With rare exception in 66-67 the only manual transmission was a three speed on the column. Like a Mustang if it's got 4 lug wheels it started life as a six cylinder.

As to the original question new vs old...I said I was done with old cars as projects but the newer-ish stuff I have (97 M3, 93 Lightning, 06 Mustang) just don't inspire me to work on them much. If you want the best out of the box with minimal wrenching absolutely go newer. If you want a real involved driving and wrenching experience and want to develop a relationship with a machine, old school. I'm thinking of going back to a Falcon and building one up if I sell my M3. Same with the truck; I just feel no connection with it.

Having done an engine on a v8 9-7x I wouldn’t wish that pain on you.

i can never decide so i just get one of everything.  Modern boosty 4 cylinder, 70’s sportscar with ls swap, 50’s cruisers, muscle cars, it’s all fun just pick something that’s super close to done so you can reap the rewards of someone else’s labor and just enjoy the drive

One of each! I like it! My wife is understanding, but I that might push the limit lol

And yeah just grabbing someone's stalled project is exactly what I'm looking for. There is a 54 suburban, it's beautiful.... But damn $$ but that is a body a can get behind
