I can't give away a working push mower, and I don't Facebook or eBay, so I have some spare vertical shaft push mower engines that run.
What are some fun projects to make with them? I already have a quiet generator so no point in powering an alternator, I jumped into battery powered mowers so spare engines on a shelf will likely never get used.

You can't give it away? I've put stuff like that on Craigslist, not linked any contact info, put "if the ad is up it is still here" and had it be gone within half a day.
For things like that, put on the curb with a big "free" sign. Even crappy bikes end up dissapearing.
The ultimate jump rope swinger.

It's still on craigslist. I can always take it to the scrap yard, just trying to spark some creative recycling.
Gas-powered winch? Would probably need to add some type of PTO to it though.

Put a sign saying $20, it'll disappear faster.
Make a capstan for pulling dead cars into the garage? Kinda like this.
Or free, someone (like my neighbor) really needs a lawn mower.
Make a generator out them. Hook it up to multiple alternators and hook those to a battery bank. Power goes out boom.... you got power.

I have a new in the box Predator vertical shaft that I bought and didn't end up using. I first listed it at 20% off the normal HF price since you can't typically use the 20% coupon for them. No bites on Tampa CL or Marketplace. Dropped it to 35% off the normal price. Still nothing. I got one guy that wanted to trade dirt bike parts and another kid looking to use it for a kart but vanished after one email. I've been amazed at the lack of interest.
