I hate waiting. This weekend was spent almost entirely waiting. Went to Austin, waited in traffic for hours. She wanted to go to IKEA, waited at the checkout for what seemed like hours. Went to the emergency room, waited for four hours. Now I'm at the hospital waiting for an endoscopy to finish so I can drive her home. I hate waiting.

ER docs think she has an ulcer. GI doc said she thinks it's some kind of infection in her spleen. Hopefully today they can pinpoint what's going on.

That kind of waiting sucks, hope everything goes well.

Get well soon "She".

And I am right there with you on the waiting thing. I will never wait for a table, on line for tickets, etc. I skip the escalators and the beltways at airports because all the slow berkeleys block them up standing around and I can't even wait on a moving belt. It drives my wife nuts. I'll turn with traffic and blow a U-turn a quarter mile up instead of waiting to turn left when I'm really not in a hurry to be anywhere. I just want to keep moving. I've walked out of so many places - in fact, I walked out of the auto parts place and left a pile of parts on the counter yesterday because the E36 M3 berkeleying ass hammer was on the phone for five minutes and wouldn't even make eye contact.

berkeley waiting.

Feeling ya Nick.

My her had the endoscopy last week, found and ulcer and 2.5cm mass, biopsied the mass, hear back next week on those results...

This. Exactly. There are very, very few things in life I'll wait for.

I've driven 6-miles out of the way in a snowstorm so I could do 60 on unplowed back roads rather than be stuck behind a line of 10 cars doing 20.

If we pull into a restraunt and I see people waiting in the foyer I'll just turn around and find somewhere else to go.

I want to get done with whatever I'm doing and get on to things I actually give a damn about as quickly as possible.

I'm the same way. Take the stairs because people don't know how to walk up an escalator (why is it that about half the time people get it, and make two lanes--right lane stands, left lane walks--and half the time they don't?) Hate waiting for a table, although if there is a beer or a game on I don't mind. Hate traffic, will go out of my way to avoid it.

But the worst for me is waiting after we've finished eating for coffee. MIL does this. Drives me insane. Part of it is that when we're with her, we're usually at a place that either needs the table, or it is late and I can tell that people are waiting on us to go home (still not closing time, but they're nearly done). I am done with my meal, I could be drinking a coffee at home that will be better and much cheaper. Seats will be better too, or I could stand up and not be looked at weird.

Gotten to the point that when she orders the coffee, I order another beer. Otherwise I sit there all jittery waiting to leave. In her defense, she has MS and eating out is about her only entertainment. I really need to be better about it.

A new Moe's opened up near us and it is still new and thus packed everytime we go there. I told my wife there is no way in hell I am going to stand in line for a freakin burrito.

Don't go to a Chipolte then... It seems like whenever I've gone there, regardless of time of day, the line is to the door.

Being a commuter through central NJ, waiting in traffic is a fact of life. I was stuck in an 8 mile traffic jam on Rt 1 at effin' 3:45PM yesterday. Couldn't believe traffic was that bad so early. My guess is something was extra screwed up on the NJTP which had people bailing to Rt 1. The annoying part is there are no alternate routes that actually move, so you simply have to pick your poison and deal with it. After 19 years of this, I've become more tolerant.

Chipotle moves you through very fast though. Never been in line for longer than 5 minutes.

I'm totally with you on the waiting in Austin Traffic and IKEA part. So Glad I no longer have to work downtown. I would have been moving if I had to much longer because that drive was soul sucking.

Hope the Wife is ok. That is the absolute worse form of waiting.

Everything looked okay besides some irritation of the stomach linings, waiting on the biopsies to come back for two weeks. Nothing nefarious was found so that's good news. Doc still thinking some kind of infection.

The worst part about the weekend was getting home and trying on my new gear. Somehow I ended up leaving the store with two right handed gloves. The GPS said the store was an hour and 12 minutes away from my house. Well with the traffic it turned into two and a half I've tried to get them to let me mail them back and have them mail me the correct pair but have been told by numerous people that I would have to return them to the store...I'm honestly thinking about just ordering another pair from the internet just so I won't have to go back through Austin.

No worries. I was at the track all weekend with World Challenge in town. We will have to hook up sometime.

Haha! I'm like this. If a place is popular, I stay the hell away from it. Back when I was working I would joke that if I started having lunch at a particular restaurant, it was "the kiss of death" because that meant it was quiet enough for me to enjoy going there, and it would be closed within months due to a lack of clientele. It happened often enough to be noteworthy.
