A snippet of this played in a tv commercial yesterday. My kids were shocked when I picked up tha rhymez where it left off.
In reply to paranoid_android74:
Aright, stop what you're doin', cause I want to know what TV commercial that was.
One of the things I love about Mark Knopfler is his ability to create great lyrics and great songs about inane topics. This is a case in point. I don't think anybody does this better than him.
This looks like a great low-key, informal concert. I wish I'd been there. My only complaint? ... the amateur video. How can you not hold a camera steady, even if it's your phone? I do it all the time ... under all conditions .

Holy poop that was terrible!
This has been stuck in my head lately: The Fall of Troy- Nature vs. Nurture
I just gave Capt. Karl a +1 for Peter Tosh. Good stuff. And I love AMC Pacers. And Gremlins. (Notice the 80-ish Spitfire in the background?)
At this point in time, Annie and I are listening to Eric's Unplugged album:
Um, I'd only say this to you folks because we're friends, but I've had probably a hundred people over the past 25 years tell me I'm this guy's double. And at a nightclub in the wild west end of London a few years ago people actually thought I was him watching the local band from the audience. Effects of the alcohol consumed, no doubt. It's obviously just a coincidence, but we do happen to be about the same age, and look somewhat alike. I'm just repeating what people tell me. (However, I do play a mean air-guitar).
German band called BAP
Their signature song called "Verdamp Lang Her"
You really don't have to understand German language to appreciate this performance. And the 80's era production is superb.
Saw these guys for the first time Saturday, they put on a hell of a show for just two dudes:

Really, I'm not 100 years old reliving my youth. Annie and I recently finished watching Boardwalk Empire with great 20's era music, and now we're watching Amazon Prime's "Z" which is F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife Zelda. It takes place in the twenties as well, therefore the music. I think the modern interpretation of twenties music is more paletable than the ancient film that we're used to seeing. But imagine being in your early twenties in the 1920's hearing this music for the first time and everybody thinking it was really cool. That had to be phenomenal. So that's why I appreciate it. And it's really good music.

For some reason I haven't been able to stop listing to fan compilations of the Black Knight trilogy soundtracks. Some of them are really good.

I had to cross-listen to the original song to confirm that they didn't just put that over video of them screwing around. Mind. Blown.
