I hate when people do things that others can hear. Loud fireworks, dogs barking, Harley’s. I know my car is loud but I idle through neighborhoods as much as I can. And maybe Harley’s deserve a pass since apparently they always want to stall, so the guy on board has to keep revving the engine up to keep it running. I like dogs but I’d prefer to not know you had them. Most of my neighbors are good about theirs, they don’t bark outside much, but the herd of pitbulls seem to wander around a bit.
Just remember, when the municipal fireworks display just finished 10 minutes ago, your little mortars seem lame. Sonjust know, that some dude down the street that you don’t even know thinks you suck.

I hope I didn't come off as being against people setting off even big stuff in the neighborhood.
More just thinking, when it's midnight or later and some have to work the next day, try to be more respectful.
The big ones that shake the windows at midnight on a work night is being inconsiderate of your neighbors.
I worry about them setting stuff on fire
I'm good with fireworks pretty much year round as long as they don't start before 10 am and are shut down by 10 pm. People around me are pretty good about it.
I don't even mind the occasional pistol or rifle celebration, I just hope they are aimed at the ground.
Deleted. I hadn't had my coffee yet.
It’s 12:41am and I’m listening to fireworks go off. I am not amused.
In reply to grover :
Amuse yourself by detonating some of your own around 5:30-6:00 in the morning, right by the biggest offenders, you know, to keep things even.

I like it. It reminds me that there are times and places where that big boom is your friends and family getting injured or killed. It’s meant to remind us of that. That’s my opinion..
This is ridiculous! July 8th, and people are still shooting off fireworks. One almost caught my Christmas decorations on fire.
My neighbor actually called me to see when we were setting stuff off this year. Many in the neighborhood stop by each year and enjoy the display. Alas, we were going to a local park for a festival and planned to watch fireworks there.
As the evening drew near, it rained heavily for hours, and the county canceled the fireworks at the festival. Of course, not long after that, the rain stops.
Plan B: Text the neighbors and let them know we'll go ahead and put a few up. Another guy in the neighborhood and I usually have a friendly competition. We did a few, they did a few, everybody was done before 10pm.
A little respect for your neighbors and some common courtesy should minimize any negative impact. Sorry to hear some of you are having issues.
