Thanks guys. I am now officially convinced that it's better to do something that you love than someone who you may not.

Though it may not have always been the smartest, I don't really have to wonder what I was thinking for any of them. About half involved thinking with the wrong head; the biggest 'mistake' was also being blinded by my heart as well as that, but without that (my first marriage) I'd not have been where- both physically and emotionally- I was to meet SWMBO just like she'd not have been where she was without her own first marriage. Some of them may not have been the smartest choices, but I can't say I regret any of them- all of it went into me being who I am now, and I'm fine with that.

There's only been 2 really crazy ones and I was married to one of them. First wife, we were both too young but with a kid it seemed the right thing to do although I did really care for her. Was serving overseas and writing letters (before email, 1970's) and planning future then get a letter from a lawyer stating she's suing for divorce and trying to take me for more than I had. Thankful for Soldiers and Sailors relief act, saved me. Found out later that during all those letters she wrote planning our future she was shacked up with her future ex-husband. She's on #5 right now. Our son has determined that she is bipolar. Second one was a Filipina topless dancer in Tacoma that wanted to settle down but her idea of settling down only applied to me and not her. Met my wife after the first wife and before the Filipina in Korea but I just got divorced why would I want to settle down again. Went back to Korea after the Filipina and hooked back up with her, I figured any woman that would wait a year for someone is worth settling down with. Been married to her for over 33 years now and have 2 grown daughters. We have our issues sometimes but I don't think I could find anyone else that would put up with me.

Only dated one crazy. Lasted for two weeks but she then played with my head for about a year after. Current girlfriend has been with me for 4.5 years now and I plan on asking the question soon. She started out not liking my car passion but not she likes it almost more than I do

First crazy was a girl I dated in high school. I was a senior about to head off to college and she was a sophomore. I was naive, and she was not. I was in love for the first time and she was bat E36 M3 crazy. Self admitted bi-polar that was a pathological liar. Lied about the dumbest things. Caught her up in so many lies but she still wouldn't admit to them. She basically used me for rides because I had a car. She was in some school plays and I went along and sat with her family. Noticed in the back row there was these two guys cheering and yelling. After the play she went up to one and hugged them before acknowledging me. Of course I got mad and she said I was crazy and jealous and I was the one with serious issues. She said she didn't want to talk to me for a week. Needless to say in that week she started dating the new guy and I was out. I was really hurt by the ordeal. First love, first heartbreak. After I left for college, she broke up with the new guy and begged and cried to get me back. Told her I met someone else and she cried and snotted on the phone. Said bye and didn't talk to her again.

Second girl wasn't crazy, and is a genuinely good person, but with one weakness. I met her freshman year of college and dated through senior year. Her problem was that she couldn't think for herself. Had a controlling older sister that she lived in fear of. She had a hard time ordering dinner (if her sister was there) without asking her for advice. She also let a room mate (who was an ice queen) control her life. Basically her sister told her to break up with me after I went on spring break without her (went with some guy friends). It was over after that. I was hurt, but I was able to leave her and Charlotte behind to travel about, meet great people, and finally my wife, who I'm beyond happy and satisfied with.

Man, I've either been very lucky or you guys have a really poor outlook on life. My ex's, inc my first wife I hold no animosity for. Even the one bat-guano-crazy one was OK at the time, I just delayed the break up too long and she was clingy long after (like years and years) after we split and I was married. She couldn't talk to me at parties even 5-6 years later. But even her I don't hold any animosity towards.

I've dated several crazy women, but one stands out. She was insanely hot, and Brad Pitt's cousin in fact. But crazy nonetheless. After we broke up, she showed at a party in a black wedding dress, and it wasn't a costume party. There's plenty more crazy in there, but we'll leave it alone on a family site.

In college I dated another girl that showed up at my parent's house when I was in the shower. I had a date with another girl so I left her there talking to my dad.

My first week in college I went out with a girl who started talking about getting married and having kids...on the first date!!! She was married and gone before the 1st semester ended.

In reply to Adrian_Thompson: I don't miss the ex. Nor would I even hold any animosity toward her if it weren't for the money. I hate being poor and have worked long and hard to build myself a comfortable life. To go back to where I was 20 years ago financially with and extra financial cinder block tied to my ankle makes me a bit testy at times.

I dunno about crazy, but some facebook stalking revealed that the big heartbreaker in my life from long ago has lost her looks. Her face looks kinda skeletal now--probably from all the sun damage she got in younger years. Odd to see someone that gorgeous looking more like a high-mileage "Real Housewife" now.

I'm really passive/selective about who I friend on FB, so I've never bothered reaching out. ((shrug))

Just went through a divorce last year. It sucked ass. The girl that I had no doubt to be 'the one' flipped like a light switch 3 months in and the divorce was finalized 8 months after we said 'I do'. 2 weeks after the divorce she calls me saying she misses me and wants to try to work things out. She's nuttier than squirrel turds.

Met a new girl at the autocross and haven't looked back since.

LOL... I was eating at Alvanos restaurant in Aiken, SC years ago when a girl that I went to high school with that my older brother dated while in the marines walked and appeared to have gone serious biker chick. She didn't recgonize me, thank goodness. I couldn't even tell which team she played on.

Oh they were her boobies alright. That's the only thing about her that was real. Her last name was the same as my favorite NASCAR driver, so once upon a time she told me that her uncle "Richard" would stop through O'burg, pick her up and take her to the races.

That's just the beginning.
