Jeff Foxworth or Larry the Cable Guy. Either would do.
I can't take my life too seriously, and no one else should either.
Peter Cullen, in Optimus Prime's voice!!
Or Bruce Campbell... I have one of his audio books, "Make Love, The Bruce Campbell Way" and it cracks me up.

I read this as Gabby Hayes. That'd work for me!
My first thought was "Richard Dawkins, because he would HATE having to read it."
My second thought was Stephen Colbert. I'd probably want to leave in all his off-hand remarks.
Henry Rollins. I know he'd appreciate the DIY approach my earlier life had. He might also lend the appropriate punk approach to the more train wreck parts of my life.
If you've never heard some of his spoken word stuff (including some documentary work on Discovery) it might surprise you.

Damn. We're doing alive or dead? I call MLK.
I've heard of most of these, with Sam Elliott being a bit of a surprise. Don't get me wrong, I think he has a great voice (makes me want to drive a Ram truck and eat beef 24/7) and I love what he's been able to do with a mustache and a smirk...he's managed to build a whole acting career with those 2 "assets".
But I have to ask:
WHO IS Gibby Haynes?
