I remember seeing one of those in a hot rod at a car show once. I didn't even know that Ford had made them. I think they were originally in AFX drag Mustangs.
Very cool looking engine, even without the Hillborns. I would love to have one of those original valve covers.
Nope not in Mavericks or any production car. It was intended for stock car racing to combat the Chrysler Hemi but banned by the France family and then pushed in to drag racing by Ford.

They only CAME in a couple of cars (naturally, the maverick was never one of them) They got put, in a number of things, by folks with really deep pockets!
There are more of them for sale today, than ford ever made.

Ford built an aluminum BOSS 429 with magnesium intake water pump and valve covers ,as well as other bits for Can/Am.
