I have a 1200 drivetrain that someone needs. Complete carb to tailshaft, including starter, alternator header dizzy.
Came out of a 1971 1200 Coupe, carb is a weber, trans is a five speed.
GRM price $400. Perfect for a small light project car or buggy, sturdy, light, lots of support.
Located in the 616
I knew as soon as I saw it it would be way up north.
The 5 speed trans is worth the price of admission.
In reply to spitfirebill :
It's a smooth case with 60 cast into the side, even has a wood Datsun shift knob.
Normally Datsuns up here return to the earth and all we have left is the drivetrain, this one came out of the racecar that I just sold.
I should pick this up for my Locost I will never build some day. Save those Datsun Iron Crosses I can't sell on CL or FB.
Since my son went to Hope College in Holland maybe a trip up north might be a way to kill a day.

I have some time off over the holidays, is you want to set something up.

Ok, really interested in this.
Do you know the condition of the internals? (Ie does it run? Or compression/leakdown numbers?)
Also, do these guys have old soft valve seats that need lead replacement additive in modern gas?
I was told it ran fine, just pulled and replaced with a 2000. If you want I can pull the valve cover off if you want and even give it a cold leak down or compression check.
Who dares me to spend 10 dollars in tune up parts from RA and see if this thing will fire while bottle fed. Huh, any one?
Seriously $1.78 for a cap and $2 and change for a rotor, may even splurge for wires, but damn it if I put money into this the price goes up accordingly.

You don't need to spend any money (see video below from earlier this week), Here's all you need:
- Battery
- Jumper Cables
- Starting Fluid
- Screw Driver (to jump starter solenoid)

I apologize. I should send you a pm about this.
I'm still interested and I would absolutely pay the extra $6 to know it runs if I decide to buy.
But I'm also still trying to weigh all my options. Also I want to see the condition of the good body in person before I make my final powertrain decisions. So I apologize for being wishy washy right now.
Tell Joe to get you the body ASAP!
