Picked this 13x24 up the other week. Ran smooth and quiet when I looked at it. Has high/low forward/reverse/stop switches. 3phase.

So anyway, got it positioned where I want in the garage and got a rotary phase converter to run it. 

Now it won't start the motor. I have confirmed I have 3 phase power going in and getting past the fuses. Push the any of start buttons and it'll click (confirmed cycling of the contact switches- I see them move) but all I get is an audible electric hum. Like power is trying to go somewhere but stuck.

Everything rotates freely. When looking at the motor shaft it doesn't even flinch when trying to start it which has me thinking it's not even getting a hint of power...

I'm lost, the wiring is extra complicated (basically doubled) because of the high/low vs one one speed. I suspect something got damaged or shaken loose on the trip home but haven't got a clue what to check or how at this point.

I just don't understand how it ran perfect before hauling home and now it's a dud.

Not a 240/480v difference. The motor is a 220v only and that what I'm supplying it with off the phase converter.

Could really use some help...

Try swapping the phases as a starting point.  If the motor is out of phase, it SHOULD rotate backwards, but perhaps your motor won't turn at all if it is out of phase. 
 

Swap 2 of the leads. See what happens. 
 

If that doesn't work, you're gonna have to dig more into that wiring diagram.

I did swap 2 earlier just to see. No change. I'll try the other combinations and see.

First box is only the switch and fuses

Other two look identical. One box is high F/R and the other is low

Figured it out after staring at this thing some more. It requires two switches to be triggered at the same time in order to do anything. 

One set selects high or low, the other selects forward or reverse. I feel dumb...but it's been a day...

That is the same Lathe I used in High School, great shop tool.  I'm not an electrician so my advise was going to be, did you plug it in, turn it on?  Do you need any tooling, I may have extras.

I would suggest dumping all the relays and switches and installing a VFD. That will give you variable speed and forward and reverse.
