Anybody use Eastwood paint products? I'm specifically interested in their 2K chassis aerosol line. Seems like an interesting product where they utilize a special can that combines two components that catalyzes into a ceramic coating. Ideally I'd like to use it as the main color and hit it with a clear.
So here's the use case: I'm repairing some minor rust on the front valence of my Mk1 MR2 (aluminum body part between the front bumper & lip). It's mostly rock chips, but one good dent might hold some surprises once I grind it down. I'd like to upgrade from my usual Rustoleum applications since this section see's a lot of abuse. The car was painted "Maaco Gloss Black" by the PO.
This is not a highly visible section of the car, so I'm not looking for professional results. More like passable results that are durable. I'll be using their aerosols as I'm not investing in a paint gun and don't want to buy buckets of paint either.
Here's my plan so far. Let me know if you have any recommendations.
- Grind all loose rust & sand existing paint (not planning on removing all paint)
- Chemical rust remover on whatever is left
- Encapsulator because overkill
- 2K Epoxy Primer
- 2K Chassis Paint
- 2K Gloss Clear
