Which version of Watkins Glen are we racing on Wednesday? I downloaded it from the RaceDepartment site, just need to know which version to practice on...
Also, I need to figure out how to get on the GRM AC server... is this still the correct link: https://acstuff.ru/s/q:race/online/join?ip=68.160.160.132&httpPort=8082
In reply to Rodan :
Nope. I posted the current one in discord.
It changes once in a while whenever Dean's IP changes.

I've been added to the Discord server but I'm still locked in purgatory. Can someone let me in to the Aessetto Corsa channel? Same username (andy_b)
I put the Watkins Glen version we are using up on the folder, as well as Daytona, for next week. I also deleted all the cars up there.
I still do not find your name on Discord (?), so I sent you a direct link.

I dont see you in discord. Can you message me? prodarwin#1538
I will be on tonight.
I will have discord up. I want to practice some and work on cleaning up the Google drive.
I will also put up the individual cars and see about the tracks. I will take down the files I have that start with GT3. I will make a folder in the main Google drive called "Current Season" or something like that and put both the cars and the tracks in there. BTW what season is this? By my count, it is Season 7 of ACC.
If people want to get some practice in that would be fun!!! I am also interested in how the HC works on Sauce and Pro. Feedback is appreciated.
Ok cars and tracks for the current series have their own folders on the Google drive making it easier to pull down specific missing content.
I will be on for a while testing.
Round 2 tonight!!! I got a good amount of practice in last night and found a tune for my car that I did back in testing that I have no clue what I changed but the car seems a bit better over the curbs.
Everyone should make sure to check fuel use. This week I have tire ware and fuel use back on. If you don't have time to check fuel usage 35l-40l I think should be safe for all cars. My car is saying 30l should be ok but if we somehow end up doing 10 laps I would be extremely close.
I am also hoping that some of the new people that have expressed interest can join us. It would be great to see you all!! If you get on early we can share setups and help with other things if you need it. Or just answer any questions people may have.
Oh and with the first round of HC applied to Sauce and Pro I am hoping we end up with the pack close together.

Planning to be there... I'm still slow... still trying to get used to AC and the feel of the cars.
I need to try and get some practice. The Hurrican is fast enough in a straight line, but seems to give up a lot in cornering and braking. One big thing is that is handles curbs very well, so maybe that is something I can exploit.
If I get run over, I might consider switching to the AMG.
There is the other Porsche

What car are you running?

They need more HC... I think you should double it right now, just to be safe.
In reply to aircooled :
The Huracan has great brakes, but the key to unlocking it is that the car scrubs a TON of speed under trail braking. What ends up happening is your speed at turn in is too high, but if you keep some brake pressure it woahs down quickly and pulls the nose in. Definitely not intuitive because the instinct that you haven't slowed down enough is correct, and how much is can slow down while splitting inputs seems to defy physics. It takes quite a bit of practice for sure, but in terms of how late you can brake it was right with the Porsche for me for the deepest braking points.

I'm planning to run the Porsche sprint. It will probably kill me, but I'm kind of figuring it out quicker than the other cars.
When do people start showing up?
8-8:30 ish.
btw your account has been sitting in voice chat for like 3 days. Surprised it hasn't gone inactive.

That's weird... I've joined the AC voice channel on/off when I was on practicing, but I'm not seeing anything else active...
Does a channel stay active when Discord is closed if you don't disconnect manually?
In reply to Rodan :
Usually it moves you to an offline channel automatically after a bit. But yeah when you leave you need to press the disconnect button.
Great turnout last night!!! I had a good time chasing down sauce in race one but a quick laps in concentration in race two was all it took for me to loose the car and get run over by the pack.
Some very god, close racing last night. I very much enhjoyed it. Until I took myself out of both races. Still it could have been worse.

It was good racing. I'm starting to get back into the groove on driving and coming to terms with the NSX. I have no idea if it is the fastest car in the group, but I'm consistent with it. Small tuning tweaks have really helped me to get it to my liking from a handling perspective. I managed to drop from 1:56s in practice last week to 1:49s during the race. I'll take a 7 second improvement.
I'll agree with Sauce, I ran the mediums last night. On pure pace, they are bit slower than the softs; but they are much more forgiving and controllable in a slide. I got tapped from behind mid-corner last night and was able to catch it on the mediums and continue on without a unbearable bright red tire.

I think I was the one that tapped you... sorry about that. Considering it was the first time I've been on track with other cars in Assetto Corsa, I was happy that was the worst that happened!
I had a couple of spins, but didn't put it in any walls, and went faster in the race than in practice. I'm pretty happy with that for my first outing.
It was great getting online with some GRM folks as opposed to the usual Forza lobbies. I had missed the little bit of online Forza we did back in the day. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

Divine racing is the best
The second race is always rather exciting. I know there were a few incidents that might be fun to look at. I know there was one that was with (maybe Mike) that I might have cut him off a bit going into a corner, which resulted in him getting out of shape and then he was unceremoniously broadsided by Gameboy (not his fault of course). Probably no issues, but it will be interesting to look at.
I also do want to look at Deans smoke show. I saw the smoke, pretty sure I saw him off to the right side of the course and I went to the left, to find he was now positioned right behind the smoke. Got him good in the left rear.
