I have not seen the front flip, but I did roll the Miata TC on a pretty minor curb. Still pretty hard to setup the Miata TC to oversteer (still not sure why), but it does respond better to tuning then in GT5.
Some other cars that I messed with that are interesting. The Toyata 7 is a fun drive. You really get a sense of too much power and a turbo surge as the RPMs come up. Fun car to drive, and a lot easier to drive then in GT5.
The Batwing is also pretty crazy. Very rear weight biased and a LOT of rear down force. Very much a slow in fast out kind of car. Take your foot off the gas at your own risk! Very wicked spin. If the real car drives like this, I could see it would make for an interesting series. I could also see it not playing well with "normal" cars because of the radically different lines required.
I haven't had the front flip yet, but I have rolled several times from clipping the curbing. It's really easy to do with lighter cars. I managed to do it in a stock GTR at Bathurst today. Didn't see that one coming haha
Yeah idk what to do about the front flips but the side roll over seems to require softer suspension and/or more camber.
In GT5 you could easily roll a modified 49 beetle. Just stiffen up the suspension with RS tires and turn quickly. I did some bicycle practice with it. It's not very easy to do.
My 2nd nurburgring lap In the Hyundai click race car involved 4 rolls. Crazy stuff. I remember on live for speed the same problem with the mini looking car. Clip the curbing, over you go!
Anyone up for getting a lobby together tonight to screw around? I havent tried online with others yet.
In reply to failboat:
I should be on line at some point probably after 9:00 eastern.
Anyone figured out how to find your friends on GT6? I can only see rooms created by or if they are an admin.
I think if you search friends rooms, it shows you rooms that your friends are in, not necessarily if they are the host. I tried to join a room last night but not sure who was in it. I was told my connection was not compatible with the host. I hope that is not a consistent issue for me.
New favorite car: 1970 Nova SS. Race suspension, IHE for the power mods (race exhaust = massive side pipes that exit under the door) and ECU tune yields a stupid fast car. Ran down a GT40 at Willow Springs without even working hard and looked great doing it. You want one.
Well, I can run down a AI driven GT40 at Willow in a pure stock GT350 Don't judge it by that.
You CAN piggyback into a room when a friend is in the room but not the leader. Dean did it to me tonight.
BTW - I REALLY hate street cars on race soft tires. Don't like, Don't like. I have no interest in ever doing that for a series.
Tried an intresting race. Low pp 425 i think and the winner has to retire there car.
Thus would make an intresting series.
I kind of agree on the rs tires. Hiwever get it rite and they are great. A bad setup on rs is pure hell. I think it has alotito do wirh driving style. If you like to slide the car you probibly won't like rs tirs. Since I don't like sliding I think rs tires suite me better.
Ok, Air, no stock series on RS tires as long as we have no series on Comfort tires. Seems fair.
As long as we are sayying no I request no karts.

Come on you know you want to do a spec Andretti Hudson series on Race Soft tires. Run at the full ring and full cape ring. Such fun.......

This!
I think there is an appropriate use of comfort tires for pre 70s cars. They actually seem to like them on stock suspension.

As noted, some showroom stock come with Comfort tires, but they are generally pretty low power.
The CTR2 was not that bad on RS's. That car actually has a bit of oversteer in GT6, even on RS, which is nice. The RS just make cars all "jittery" and "shuttery" (like they are lurching across the ground).
I don't know if it is tire related, but the CTR2 was shaking so violently when trying to corner hard that it was hard to see the course!! Anyone else notice this? I suspect it has a bit to do with the drop to 30 fps. The frame rate drop also rather obvious in a high detail environment with a bunch of other cars (view gets a bit jittery).
I just got GT6 yesterday (posted my PSN in the appropriate thread). I'm plugging away at single player now and am also getting used to a specialized controller:
Yes, it's cheesy looking but it's comfortable and I find my throttle and steering inputs to be much smoother than with the regular PS3 controller. Sadly, I have no space for a full steering wheel rig right now.
A few observations from someone just getting back into sim racing after a very long hiatus. I'm in the middle of the National A races, BTW:
I'm really digging my HKS controller. My inputs are far smoother than with a standard PS3 controller. I know the PS3 controller buttons and joysticks are pressure-sensitive but they don't have a lot of travel (face button) or resistance (joystick) for fine inputs, so I would find myself making multiple quick presses instead of smooth inputs. My driving videos always looked jerky as a result. I don't like using the triggers as throttle/brake either because of how they slope. I'm much better with the HKS.
GT's AI is still brain-effing-dead. I should start doing some online races...
The standard cars still have a lot of jaggies. I had a sad when I saw them on my Alfa GT 3.2L.
So far my favorite car is the Ferrari 512BB. It's not at all twitchy like I expected (coming from the 15th AE Stratos). With an LSD and ECU upgrade and nothing else it's pretty darn quick.
That controller is pretty damn cool. Seems to be a good compromise between a normal controller and a wheel.

I may have to check that controller out, looks pretty slick.
Anyone try to run GT6 on a PS4 yet?
The only way for PS3 games to run on the PS4 is they have to be integrated into their online system (whatever that is called) as a conversion. There is no support for PS3 discs on the PS4 (unfortunately, and makes the release of GT6 around the time of the PS4 a bit of a marketing headache).

So, are those sort of mound shaped buttons on the right part of the pad the accel and brake? The reason I ask is that it seems like it would almost be impossible to use the brake and gas at the same time (kind of like left foot braking). This could be a big disadvantage in the mid and rear engined cars.
