I have been flipping through my copy of the standard catalog of Japanese motorcycles and I keep pausing at the vx800.
Anybody have any experience on one? From the looks of it I believe it would mak a good commuter. I don't know how many they sold but they only built it for three years. I wonder how hard it would be to track one down.
It sold poorly hence the 3 year run. I'd be concerned with finding one and getting parts for it. I had the Suzuki Marauder with the 800cc (same) engine I believe and it was decent for a small Vtwin. A good number had oiling issues due to a faulty fuel petcock pushing fuel into the cylinders when off.
I've ridden one, it was nothing special. The Marauder version is probably better if you like a cruiser .

Strange bike. I worked on a loyal customer's VX several times back when I was at the shop. I can say nothing to either condemn or recommend it; it's very solid but unnoteworthy. If it fits you and you dig it, go for it and you probably won't be let down using it as a commuter.
Not really into cruisers, jst really liked the looks of this for some reason. ANd it was a v twin.
I really want a Thruxton but anything odd or funky always catches my eye.
