Grandson has this pos jeep. 1992 ugly square headlight little 4 cylinder 5 speed w/transfer case.
Everything currently (depending on the phase of the moon) works reasonably well ... EXCEPT it will not shift into 2nd, 5th, nor Reverse.
Seeking any advice from those much more knowledgeable than this humble wrench.
The AX 5 transmission in those was pretty weak. Even behind a stock 4 cylinder they are a bit fragile.
Much of what i've seen of this thing i would classify as "pretty weak". Certainly not competing with Japanese or German build quality.
