I do actually have these neckbands that absorb water that I'm planning on getting something to hold all that free hotel ice to make the trip better. Also we might get good weather conditions, a couple days ago the whole trip was around 78 degrees or so, hopefully it stays.

I've never had a problem with the car overheating, but at the same time I've not driven it for as long in the middle of summer as this trip is going to involve. Since the car does not have its AC installed it does have something of a cooling advantage since the radiator is less obstructed and gets better airflow over it, so hopefully running the heater will not be necessary.

I'm sure it'll be fine, I can even get a little fan to blow on us during the trip.

It's an adventure, I'm sure we will have lots of fun

I don't know if the fan will be necessary, as long as it's not raining I tend to have the windows down and not be using AC myself regardless of the vehicle (this doesn't apply if the Dancer is in the vehicle, since there are times of the year when her allergies prevent that and require the windows to be up and AC running).

Flight leaves in about 12 hours. Very excited!

First flight done, and that was literally my first flight ever.

At O'Hare now eating some hipster $10 salads that a horrible, because McDonald lines are 50 deep, the wife's even has kale

Airports suck, and i hate flying. Scared of heights, really. 

But every time I have flown, its been worthwhile!

You're about five miles away, and I think I'm on your flight path. If you see a house with a grey tarp (there's a minor rant) on the roof, be sure to wave. I certainly see a lot of planes out there.

Takeoff was interesting, I actually kind of expected more Gs.

The flight was ok, small seats, too hot but we did get to pass a cool thunderstorm. Sadly I was in the other side of the plane and everyone else was asleep so I couldn't move anyone for pictures

Im terrible with heights and have vertigo....you can see why it's taken me awhile to fly lol

As long as the plane isn't banking it isn't terrible really

I've been flying a lot for work recently.  I've even gotten free drink coupons from Southwest.  

Always bring chewing gum. 

Don't drink the water onboard the plane.  Bring your own refillable water bottle.  Most airports have water filling stations inside security now.

3 oz travel size toiletry bottles can be repurposed to contain adult distillations.  

Bring a good book.  

Try not to think about Lynyrd Skynrd.  

When I fly with co-workers we make a game out of rating landings, on a scale of 0 to 10.  10 being a feather-soft landing, 0 being "we done came _this_ close to crashing".  So far, the worst has been a 1.5.  We bounced.  

2nd flight was on a smaller plane and was a bit more..... dramatic with everything lol

Cosmosphere is awesome! Salt mine/Underground tours down the road are worth it too, especially if you are into film memorabilia. (reservations required)

While my goal is to not break into anything in that cart I was able to get a decent road trip kit from Harbor Freight for a damn low price because of all the coupons I got in the mail the day we flew out

Here is a mystery.....why do rental companies give you 2 fobs when you cant take apart the chain anyway?

I've been told it's logistics. They get two keys with the car, and mean to have them when they dispose of the car. If they tried to manage all of the second keys on transfers, in-town cars and one-way cars, it would cost money. If they just band them together and make it your problem, it costs nothing extra, and the customer is responsible for seeing they don't get lost.

I got the car, it's badass!

Robert included a bunch of parts and did a bunch of extra work, definitely went above and beyond too.  It was very nice to meet you man!
