When it comes to project cars, sometimes it’s less about “why?” and more about “why not?”
At least that seems to be the case for forum user NOHOME’s latest project: putting a new engine not in the front of a Morris Minor but the back–essentially making a mid-engine Morris Minor.
In theory, an engine mounted in the front and designed to power the front wheels can be remounted to the rear and made to power the rear wheels since it’s the same powertrain setup, just reassigned.
In practice, however, that process can quickly become very complex and very time consuming. See how NOHOME tackles this project at the “Mid-Engine 1950 Morris Minor. Why not?” build thread over on the Builds and Project Cars forum.
