Okay, maybe we’re using the phrase “you need this” a little broadly now, but we couldn’t just pass by this classified ad without sharing it with the rest of the world. It’s a 2005 Mazda RX-8, with a most interesting engine swap. The owner pulled out the rotary engine and replaced it with the mighty 4.5-liter V8 from an Infiniti Q45. If our $2017 Challenge has taught us one thing in recent years, it’s that the Q45 is one of the finest low-buck race cars. The seller is asking for $2600.

We list dozens of sports cars and race cars for sale in each issue of Grassroots Motorsports Subscribe now.

because not everyone wants to ruin their RX-8 with a piss-poor suspension swap.

An RX-8 popped up on my local CL about a year ago with an unfinished (of course) SR20DET swapped in. I almost made a terrible decision and bought it.
