I volunteer to be the first one on the Noise Police patrol but only if I get a bright colored tshirt saying so.

Ok, but you & Stampie better arrive for duty with appropriate attire so we know who to watch out for.

Only if you promise to touch. And tip!
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael (Forum Supporter) :
And that's how you cross the line from working the pole to prostitution.

Can I PLEASE ask all of you who have door bars installed, to install padding on them.I'm pretty sure I chipped an elbow driving one of the cars this year when it went in to violent front wheel Oscillation in the corners. OUCH!!!
Kr,Alan
I can bring some foam ones that you can move from car to car next year
davbro said:So for the $1000 class, is the budget $1,000 or $1,010.50?
$1000.00 for half-budget, $2000.00 for full budget. It doesn't increment with the year anymore. That keeps the math simple for everyone.
Alan, we shouldn't focus on only the negatives. What about the race cars that had automatic power tilt and telescope just so the Pro driver could feel super comfy in his 1 minute office?
There should be a ten second autocross bonus for that at least!

This is GRM... pool noodles!
In reply to admc58 :
I don't think this would exactly apply to padding, but I don't think any driver should be asked to drive a car that presents an imminent risk of personal harm to the driver.
You are too good a sport to try to get someone DQed for safety, but things like firewalls, proper roll cage construction, not routing fuel or exhaust through the cabin, proper seatbelt mounts, windshields, or 2x4 stakes aimed directly at the heart of the driver are all covered well in the rules. Anyone who fails to provide these basic safety protections has not completed a car in accordance with the rules. No matter how cool their car is, they don't have the right to put you and other drivers at risk like that.
You shouldn't be the only one who cares if you go home alive at the end of the day. That is ALL of our job and responsibility.
If I EVER hand you the keys to a car that appears unsafe in any way that would put you at risk, please refuse to drive it and report my entry to the GRM staff and request it be DQed. I am capable of making an honest mistake. That doesn't make my entry worthy to participate. It's not fair to the drivers, the other contestants, or the magazine and it's staff.
Of course, your choice to come to the event and drive the wheels off crappy racecars... wellll, that part is on YOU! LOL!
Did i miss the date for this year's Challenge? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Trying to see if i can do both the $2000 Challenge and the UTCC this year
In reply to davbro :
I don't think its been announced, but usually the fourthish weekend of October, so I'd guess it would start on the 22nd?
I am not in any way related to the Challenge, though. Just going by past dates
In reply to davbro :
The dates have not yet been updated on the Challenge website. They still say 2020.
Generally, late October.
You'll need to log in to post.
