Tadaaaa.
I got to see this pretada today. Impressive "junkyard" as he calls it. You know he's a GRMer when you walk into his outlaying storage and he goes "I forgot I had that. Cool." The adapter was nice to see in person also.

Atlas vs 2JZ. Epic.
Is anyone else doing a straight 6 build?

I'd like to see Jaguar and BMW toss their hats in the ring.

Do the Jag and BMW straight 6s have the attributes the get into the ring?? I don't know. We all know the 2 JZ is competent and the Atlas is being developed by Jr.. So the question is both an inquisition and a challenge.
Well I'm unfortunately not the guy to do it this year, but there are jag i6s that come from the factory boosted and with a 4l80 (4.0l and 320 hp). I'm sure that selling off the supercharger and bolting on a turbo could make a very potent motor.
The bmws are smaller in displacement but are known to make serious power when boosted too. The bmws come in cars that are already light and handle excellently, which is good for the challenge.
Maybe this is the motivation I have needed to get the XJR back together.

Won't be 2021 because I wanna see gnarly, bad, V8 handling from Riggamort, but I think BMW I6 would fit nicely and still scoot.. in case there's future I6 shootout
OK but who's gonna bring a Ford I6. I know I know, opening myself up for jokes here.

You bring it and we'll be rooting for you.
BTW, we have the (2) 3 to 1 exhaust manifolds for a 240/300 head if that is what you building.
What will it take for SquishyFishy to outrun this junk yard fresh bullet in 2021?

Does a V12 count as in line sixes?

If you can't count - yes. There are a few numerically challenged participants attending annually.
But if you bring it you're welcome to join the outcasts.
In reply to frenchyd :
Just yank the plug wires off one side.

You are aware they made a V12 version of the 2JZ aren't you?

No I did not. But I am confident that Stan and Jonathan (and others) know the difference between 6 and 12. Stan is pretty smart and doesn't need his fingers when counting. Jonathan is one of those big brained Engineer type dudes, so we taught him how to count to 6 by keeping one hand behind his back.. Regardless, anyone who wants to enter a V12 into the Challenge is going to be welcomed at the event (as long as they follow the rules and specifically the budget requirement). I don't recall reading any rules that excluded a V12 but will reread them to see if I missed that detail. We (Stan, Jonathan, Calvin, myself, maybe others) are just having a side show straight 6 brawl/bash/mini competition. That's all.

Currently, however long it takes me to push it down the track. Hoping to jump back on it this week and fab the motor mounts. Then yank it all back out to sort the converter/flexplate/starter.

Well we aren't going to build it for you so you can kick our quarter panels in with it.....get to work!!!
But seriously, let us know what else you need.
I've run a v12 at the challenge before. I still think it's the only one yet.
Wasn't jag though.
