Think Holsets for 18 wheelers. One is good. Two is better. Cheap is critical.
Thanks!

Buddy used an HX52 on his EG hatch with a built 2.1 litre LS Vtec. I couldn't make this up if i tried. The car scared the poop out of me, until i couldn't poop anymore, then i shriveled up and died.
Speaking of funny turbo ads in Indy....

I'll have to see which one I have in the shop in the morning, but it's a humongous one from a 290hp Cat diesel that was a runner before I sent the engine to scrap. I was toying with the idea of tossing it on my commercial head Dodge 413 since it's only got 7.5:1 or compression but probably don't need to be breaking stuff right now.
It'll be GRM priced.

That's not a big turbo...
thats a weee little baby...
http://www.holset.co.uk/mainsite/files/2_1_1_7-Holset%20HX82-83.php <-- good sized turbo. I used to work on engines with 4 of them.. and then 4 babies feeding these... Yes, 8 turbos.
Now there was an HX1000 in the works at one time. The impeller wheel was measured in kilograms and the compressor cover was cast iron to contain a burst.
Here's a good sized one. Make him an offer on just the turbo and see what he says.

We've got a couple at work from some Cummins powered trucks. I'll have to check how many and what kind of deal I can hook up.

If you have an HX35, can you put me next in line if Poop doesn't want it?
It looks like we only have one left. It's a Holset H1C, and appears to be new or rebuilt recently. If it were mine I'd give you a better deal, but unfortunately $225 shipped is the best I can do.
I've got a bunch of old style Cummins units. Mostly T46 and VT50's. (These are the predecessors to the Holset HT3B, etc.). Most came off motors about the size of an 855 c.i. motor.
They are in various condition. Some spin freely, some need seals. Some may work fine. All are used, surplus from a diesel repair shop. They've been pulling these bad boys off truck for 20 years and replacing them with newer units.
I'd say if you bought 2, you could almost certainly build 1 that worked.
$50 each. I've got about 20 of them. How many do you want?
If you are interested, I'll throw several in my truck for my next trip to ATL and you can have your pick.
Excellent. PM me next time you're coming up. Not sure how many we'll need. At this stage in the game, I'm thinking one (or two with which to build one) will keep us within the KISS principle.
