That's what happens at my house. Taking a break from a project this big is okay, especially if you are burnt out. Yeah, getting started again sucks. So does hating the project, tho. SkinnyG's sig line makes a lot of sense, some days. Hard to remember this is supposed to be fun.
I will say I haven't followed this in a while. Just thought about it as I drove by your house and saw the 450 in the drive way. Painting looks so fun until stuff like this happens. Had something similar happen with a rabbit. That it ended up pissing me off so much I lost my anger management training and cut the car up. Good thing is I have got the issue managed far better now. So I'm going with it was a good thing to walk away for awhile and then regroup. Wish I'd done that. Kind of miss that little rabbit.

Ha! Where are you located? I just came inside from trying to clean up the yard so the neighbors don't hate me too much.
I'm in Sammamish. I drive up the road as a short cut heading to the Bothell Fred Meyer for work. I get to got to multiple Fred Meyer locations for work. People like to break electrical stuff. I get to fix it. Friend of mine used to live at the top of the hill so I know the area well enough.

No no no! LOL its gonna stay low. Lets just put it this way, I have to drive onto a 2x to get a jack under the front cross member. Its gonna stay low. Not sure I want to go over the pass in it anyway

I was quite happy with mine, at stock height. For a 2wd, its was quite capable.

This is far lower than stock. Bags dumped the engine cross member is about 1/4" off the garage floor.
I am just doing it at a 20 footer now. I give up. I want to drive it.
White epoxy on the roof, grey from door sills down. I do have some black pigment I may add to the grey. Hopefully we will see soon.
This sucks to sand. Hence the 20' footer.
Days of sanding looks the same in pictures....
I've got an over everything back to the rear wheel arches with 800 on the da. Just a really light pass. Just trying to knock some of that crap off the paint and freshen the surface up a little bit for the next layer. I also wasn't real happy with how well you can see the scratches through the "test spray" I did....
Lots of little radius on the window frames still to do. But it's a little progress.

At this point, I'd be tempted to just shoot it in epoxy primer and drive the crap out of it.
The paint plan for my Dodge involves clean surfaces and Durabak bedliner rolled on smooth in the appropriate colors...

That is the plan! I did get clear to shoot over it too....
Window frames other than the tailgate and hatch (have to open the garage to get there) are almost done. My fingers hurt. No pics since it looks the same
Almost leaf blower time!
And I bought a chemical sprayer, hopefully that helps with wipe down this time.....
