At this point i might as well.make my own harness lol.
Behold the disaster on my hands. I got all of the engine harness inspected, repaired, and back in the car hooked up. Got my ecu fixed and negotiated down to 55 bucks.

Keep plugging away. You'll get it running.
I made a list on pieces of tape on the windshield, then tried to just finish one thing at a time so I could pull the tape, worked good and I could tell I was making progress.
Edit -- It also let me triage, things I had to do, things I wanted to do and decide what I could do with the time I had.

That's a good idea. Normally i just a have a sheet of paper with a bajillion things on it lol
welp, tonight was the moment of truth and we have a no start.... I have spark, very bright from the ignition coil at least. verifying msd is working. i know i have compression as the car just ran a few days ago. my fuel pump is on a switch so i know i have pressure. what i am not sure of is if the injectors are firing off. My guess is no. tomorrow i will test with a noid light to see if we have injector pulse. i am not hopeful. if i dont it can only mean my ecu repair actually made my ecu worse than what it was. get what you pay for i guess...
Do you still have the stand alone? Worse case get it running with that and take off some parts to get under budget, or run exhibition...
In reply to pimpm3 :
i wanted to compete so bad so running exhibition would not be the same amout of fun for me. i still have it but i will not use it because i want to compete. i did verify i am not getting any injector pulse.
well i went home on my lunch break to tinker some more. the injectors are not firing so it is either a break in the ground wire going to the computer or the computer itself. I talked to the guy who fixed it and he has my other computer out of the parts car that never worked and he said he would fix that one free of charge and see if that fixes it.
All signs point to a faulty ecu as of now. i have 12v to all the injectors key on, but none of the injectors fire while cranking. Generally sometimes it could be the primary ignition pick up sensor but that would kill spark as well which i have. So tonight i will be getting the second computer in the car and praying that it starts.
I have my fingers crossed. What ecu do you need for the car? Maybe sourcing one from a junkyard or u pull it yard would work?
Does this harness use the salt&pepper connectors at the back of the manifold? I have heard of pins getting pushed out of those connectors. Probably not your issue but maybe easy to check.

Ive looked everywhere but they are very hard to come by. And finding a used one in working order will cost you. I have an a9p which is the automatic version on the shelf i know will work. That came out of the parts car but i didnt know until recently you can use the auto ecu in the 5 speed cars just not the other way around. What was jn the car was an A9L. I had 2 of those. Ive had one that didnt work for the longest j just kept for parts just in case. Thays the other ecu this repair guy has. But the microprocessor looks feiedf
In reply to Shavarsh :
Yes it does. I looked at them briefly earlier and i dont believe this is the issue but i will inspect closer once i get home.

Thsnks. Just sent him a message. Maybe he will accept my lowball offer.
In reply to Bent-Valve :
No the 94/95 are their own thing. I have a supercharged 94 gt here i got for 1500. In the event this car fails to run i am going to ask tom if i can compete with this car instead.
2 99's and a 2000. Ignition box 17.99 plus 3.00 core.
I'll be your feet and hands tomorrow if you need me to go pull it.
In reply to Bent-Valve :
I really appreciate it, but it has to be out of an 87-93 5.0 the newer cars have pats (anti theft) and the 99 and 2000 are 4.6 mod motors.

Got the years crossed, up to 93! Dang it. Wrong gen.
I own 2 Fords now, I should learn more about them I just never have. I figure to specialize in Escorts. Cheap, small, I want (at least) two.
I'll keep looking for 93 and earlier Stangs.

As someone who played the bad ECU dance with a challenge car this year, I feel your frustrations. Why not install the automatic ECU, even if only to see if the injectors fire?
The other thing I found was checking every ground wire on the ECU is grounded. Mine was a Toyota but the injectors actually picked up ground through two separate wires, with one disconnected the injectors were not getting proper current flow.
With the others keep at it, there is still time.

Ive had tons of ford. Svt focuses and a lot of mustangs. If you do find pre 93 87 is the first year they went to maf from speed density. 87-93 has to be those years. Otherwise it wont work. I dont expect you to come across them as these cars are very scarce now in boneyards

Thank you. That is what i plan on doing when i get home. Im traveling back to orlando from an out of town trip today for work. But i need to unplug the o2 harness first or it will fry the auto ecu. The only difference between the 2 other than the trans controller is they are pinned slightly different.
well good news and bad news. good news is that his ecu didnt work either. which means either both of our ecu's are bad which is semi doubtful, orrrrr, there is a grounding/harness issue. More likely considering it was engulfed in flames less than a week ago. so harness comes back out tomorrow and i will be cutting off all the looming and tracing the fuel injection system out and replacing wires and or looking for obvious defects. Will also replace the engine ground of the harness.
In reply to surfshibby07 :
In all seriousness, this seems like a great build and I really do wish you the best of luck! Wiring issues are a pain. I can't imagine they get easier once the harness has been on fire.
well this morning i checked TPS voltage which will cause a no start. suppose to be set at .95v +/- .02v. i couldnt get it past .5 but with throttle full open it was set right so i attempted to start it wot. which sometimes works for others. but nothing. so now i have printed out the pin out and i am going to check for good grounds at all 3 pins that offer ground as well as a good power supply at pin #1. i am also going to hook up my fuel pump realy hot side back to the factory wire as im curious if that circuit has to be complete for the injectors. it doesnt appear to need to be but at this point im trying everything.
