These plastic rolls work great for air dam material. Its what I used on mine.

Colored Plastic Rolls, 25 Ft. (speedwaymotors.com)

That's exactly what I used too.  It's now air dam, and some inner wheel wells to keep dirt out of fun places.

Ok, thanks to you both. I am putting in an order. And I also need a shift light and they have the one I want....so, win win.

Looks like the shift light wiring will be simple, connecting to the tach lead in the pod. Tonight I switched out to my favorite safety harness (sabelt) and measured for decals for show. I will place the order tomorrow.

On the downside, Jegs sent me 1.5" bar clamps instead of the 1.75" I ordered...although the package says 1.75". Awesome customer service though...Mike from Jegs jumped right on it. I think we will be straight by the weekend.

I just took some time and read through my thread, from the beginning. So much excellent advice and positive re-directing has happened since I started. I really appreciate all the ideas you guys have offered up through this project.

A few things have come off the "to do" list before vir.

First of all, I put my Sabelts on the car and put on a new(er) seat cover.  It feels little more like home now.

I decided to make a more robust batter hold down.

I will trim the tops of the rods a bit and put on rubber caps...although it isn't as close to the wiring as it appears.

Spalted maple veneer on the dash is now a requirement...

Ha ha!  Maybe I can find a way to incorporate some of that idea!

That decal is perfect! Have you considered adding smaller ones to each quarter panel?

Yes!  I have two. I'm waiting for a couple of other decals to arrive so I can space them well.

I started feeling out the cross brace to stop the dreaded hood deflection/throttle lock.
I started by attaching a couple of bar clamps 1/4-20 threaded rod going through 3:4" square stock.

Since the hood is contoured, the center needs to be higher so I'm thinking I will weld a piece to the center after determining the proper height and profile. I will use this piece as a gauge by clamping it to the cross bar at various heights until I have the right fit and no hood deflection

Once I have one brace sorted that I am happy with, I plan to make three. One on either side of the throttle and one toward the front edge of the hood.

I had an idea the other day looking at the bumpers and thought, he needs some dome hole plugs that would look like stock bumper bolts but don't weigh enough to make a difference. Something like these but might need a different size.  https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Gasket-5104-Chrome-Wheel/dp/B000BWE4CW/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=chrome+hole+plugs&qid=1626054839&sr=8-6

There you go...that's what I'm talking about!  Thank you.
In the same vein, I need to drill a hole in the roof to gain access to the wedge adjuster...I will need a plug for that. I was thinking about a typical rubber floor pan drain plug unless someone has a slicker idea.

Intel is in....1.5" on the rear and 1" on the front. It feels solid.

Thanks!  Yeah, Judy gave me her seal of approval when I swung it by here on the way to Summit Point.  And Paul insisted I fire it up so he could hear it...predictably, he is most interested in the sound of it!
