LOL, I guess that is technically what I asked, but I meant what were the dimensions.
In reply to Crackers :
Sorry. My bad. 2 by 3 box tubing, 3/16 in plate, some tubing with id of 1/2 inch, and 1/2 inch bolts.
Day 27 - November 26, 2016

Do you and your father typically work on the car together, or do you just check off the task list as each of you finish something?

A little bit of both. Depends on the task.
I do a lot of the wiring these days. Dad does a lot of the fabricating, cage work, etc. If something needs tig welded I do it. If it needs mig welded dad does it.
Watching someone else build is fascinating. There are clearly pieces missing, and I can't figure out what they are yet, but I know it's going to all come together.
In reply to Andy Neuman :
We did on the Yellow Bug Coupe and the White Fiat. I don't remember counting hours on other cars. We only did it on those 2 because people always ask. FWIW the Nova will be over 300 and under 400. The day count is for tracking cost - we can account for each day and each installed item. If we work on something for 20 minutes it's a day. If we both work all day, it's a day.
Day 30 - November 29, 2016
Cut away some on the floor to be replaced with flat. Began making lower 4 link reinforcement.
Day 31 - December 3, 2016
Windshield removed. Trimmed 11+ pounds from roof reinforcments. Removed 4+ pounds of insulation. Installed main hoop and A-pillar bars.
It warms my heart to see another garage that looks like mine. As in E36 M3 everywhere, yet right where it belongs.
A couple of questions.....
1) What silly time do these flea markets open at ?
2) Are you weighing various bits to know where the car weight is heading, or to price your steel, or both?
Is there a reason to have the front of the hoop that far back from the windshield? Or is the seating position back far enough that it doesn't matter? I'm used to road racing/rally type cars where pushing that hoop as far forward as possible gains you precious room for you helmeted head.

1) Depends on the flea market. Some open at 7am but the line to get in starts at 6am. The one seen above goes the whole night. Into the morning. We normally show up around 5:30am.
2) weighing so we know what to put it in the budget for.

Using the material we had. If we were to fabricate from scratch we would push it forward, but the driver is far enough back that it works.
Day 35 - December 10, 2016
Right diagonal bar, dash bar, 2 forward struts, and dash stiffener fabricated and installed. Roof stiffener fabricated.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Day 36 - December 11, 2016
Welded in cross bar, 2 rear struts, 2 inner diagonals, and 5 cage stiffeners.
