Ouch. I'm glad I didn't see that before the auction ended, though I realllllly don't need a second one in the fleet right now.
Holy memory lane, Batman!
My aunt had one of the later models of these, in white, when I was a kid (think early 80s). We were a Volvo family (140 Wagon) and they were a SAAB family. Hers had 2 extra rear-facing seats in the trunk and we actually rode 2 adults and 5 kids in it at occasion. I was (actually, I still am!) the youngest cousin of 6 and I remember us kids in it sheering the car on as it barely made the hills. It was in fact faster rolling down a slope then flat out on level grounds. It made my dads Volvo seem huge and fast (which it wasn't)!
