I've been using SNG Barratt USA for all my stuff. Prices are typically better than XKS Unlimited. Plus, they are on the east coast so I get my stuff within two or three days of ordering, even UPS Ground. I've been very pleased with their products and service. This is for an E-Type, so I don't know what they have for your car.

I have a '76 XJ12-C. I live on the west coast, so I get stuff from XKs Unlimited pretty quickly.

I'll have to check out SNG Barratt USA.

Thanks, everyone. Like I said, it's only an XJ40 (although we're loving it!), but I figure if y'all with real Jags found somebody good, they're who I want to deal with. Car's running good at the moment (but has a little oil smoke on startup, it'd been sitting up awhile..), but the brake rotors are warped. I guess I'll do that first.

Oh, that's a real Jaguar, all right. Even got a real Jaguar engine in it, rather than the later Ford V8's that were just so danged modern and reliable and stuff.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the car until you are tired of working on it, like the XJS I used to own. I've now got an early E-Type, though, and it is comparatively simple to work on. Although, to paraphrase Peter Egan, it has more complexity in the throttle linkage than in my entire MG Midget!

Basil, thanks for the vote of confidence! It's a 94, and has the 4.0ltr in it. To me, it's a little slow off the mark (I haven't figured out how to use the "J-Gate to row the slushbox around..and honestly, I'm not sure I want to stress it that much.. ), but once up to speed on the highway, there's plenty of thrust to do whatever we'd like to do..

It still boggles my mind that the ride is so smooth, but yet the car has such great balance in the curvy bits. A very different experience than my old BMW 4-doors, but no less rewarding.

And of course, since SWMBO isn't quite the "hard-core" enthusiast I am, she is enjoying it much more than I do. Her previous ride was a 93 Oldsmobile Bravada (we're keeping it..when you need a truck, nothing else but a truck will do). She loves the XJ40 because it actually goes where she points it, and stops when she tells it to.

I drove a later one with the CATS active suspension system in it once. Wow! The handling was amazing while no sacrifice in ride. I drove a newer BMW 5 series that same week and was disappointed. It had the 6 in it and seemed downright sluggish and certainly harsh compared to the Jag, while handling no better.
