My brother will be there this weekend, he's got a race mechanic gig. I can ask him to snag some pictures of the Interceptor if he's got a minute.

Not our Pres. He brought his P car to the last track day we did a couple years ago. He bought the Jensen because he's like 8' tall and he fits in it, plus it has AC (even working, now.)

I've owned a number of Interceptors over the years. nearly 50/50 weight distribution-they handle pretty well when everything is in good working order-mine won a Jensen club auto-X years ago, beating all the Healys. If it can be kept cool, shouldn't be a problem.

The problem the Interceptor has is weight. It can burn the brakes up if you run it really hard and don't have suitable pads - they weigh two tons plus!

That's why I prefer my Jensen CV-8, it weighs 700 lbs. less (I also love my Interceptor though!)

Well, the Jensen didn't show. But I got to meet Eddie Hill. He's 77 and an Ariel Atom dealer in Wichita Falls, TX. He can get his around Hallett in 1:20.

Eddie Hill is registered here, though I don't think he's ever posted.

Among other things ...

Twin-engine digger pilots were a level of crazy that is only matched these days by flysuit guys and Icelandic hillclimb drivers.

According to the 'net , Mr. Hill was not only the first driver under 5 seconds, he holds another very interesting record. In 1960, he lowered the outright NHRA E. T. record more in one bite than anyone else before or since. From 9:40 to 8:84. Unbelievable.

At one point in time he has the record in both land and water drag racing. The guy is amazing.
