The recent M6 thread got me going on these again. I just love them and would love to own one some day.
Seeing this picture made me start on them again. It's too low, but still pretty darn cool looking.

The first picture makes me tingly........the second picture makes me want to throw up a little.
Beautiful cars
This is probably the classic car that I most want to actually own. I fear that it might never happen though, by the time I can afford what they cost now, they'll probably be way out of my league.
I have to concur that with a $20K budget, one of these would likely be my classic car 1st choice. I love those suckers. There's a very nice and reasonably priced one on BAT right now:

That's the first expensive car I ever drove. I was only 18 at the time, and totally enthralled by it. I was amazed at the precision of the steering.
Unfortunately, they're notorious for rust. I know where there's one rotting in a field. It'd be fruitless to try and properly restore it, but I keep having evil thoughts of bondo-ing it up and throwing a SBC in with a big roots blower sticking through the hood. It would be like a moustache on the Mona Lisa, but if you're going to commit an act of vagrancy you may as well go big!

I actually love it, other than the ride height. Put it up to an aggressive factory look and it would be perfect.
In reply to kreb:
That BAT car looks like a good deal. An E9 is on my list of cars to own at some point. Elegant is the word that comes to mind everytime I see one....well maybe not those slammed ones with too big wheels linked above, but those could be easily fixed.

I fully support your "evil thoughts" and am anxiuosly awaiting your impending "act(s) of vagrancy".
I have always loved these cars. But, the one Joshua posted just pushed me over the edge. I would seriously consider exchanging a vital body part for that car.

Agreed! I don't mind it a little lower, but I don't like the looks of it slammed with ginormous wheels.
To each their own. I just don't like the "stance" look, especially when it ruins the car's functionality.
