I am going to be buying some adapters for some power steering hose and fuel hose for my challenge car.
This is what the current ends look like, are these called inverted flare fittings?
How do you measure them to see what size and thread you need?
The top ones are inverted flare, but the one with the long nut is weird. The bottom one is also weird, which is not an uncommon thing in automotive applications.
An option, if you can't find exact replicas, is to measure the tube diameter on the ends you need to use, and have a hydraulic shop build you the hose you need with compression fittings. Re-useable fittings work as well, and you can build them yourself. If you have decent welding skills, you can find a normal, pipe thread, properly sized fitting, weld the tube end to it, then assemble the hose.
Measure the thread size to find the fitting size for adapters.
The bottom one could be DIN with metric thread.
Does the male in the second to last picture mate to the female nut with the ball seat on the tube? If you can get the numbers off that crimped fitting it might help narrow it down.
The last fitting it looks to be a compression fitting. At least it looks like the sleeve and nut on our gates hydraulic line compression fittings.

The second to last one hooks into the powersteering pump, I think.
Would these fittings be a common thing at a parts store? Or a hardware store?
if so I can just cut the other ends off of the engine side and take them in to test fit. I didn't think of that before.

Thanks. That gives me something to go on.
Napa would probably be the most likely to have them. Possibly a tractor supply or RKO.
See if that shell has numbers in it - Parker stamps their part number. I carry a measuring kit and sometimes I match up a known fitting in my shop to figure out the mystery fitting. Doing this 25 years and it's a little easier.....

That looks like a cool kit.

For the fuel hose could I just slip some rubber fuel line over the end of the factory flared hose, and put a hose clamp on it, or would I still need an adapter to that inverted flare fitting with the hose barb thing on the end?
Just trying to figure out the easiest/cheapest way to get this done.
If there is enough barb to hold the hose it should be worth a shot.
