Nice!!!
Thanks for the kind words about my Mustang, everyone!
@Solfly: The body is molded in white.
@slowbird: There is also a new resin conversion to build an Australian Supercars Mustang, if you're interested in that option. It's not up on his web site, yet, so I guess he hasn't finished it. Indycals usually makes a couple of decal options for most of his conversions.

That RX7 is awesome! You all are very talented!
New model contest thread coming out today, will run until August 30th. Stay tuned!
I have a McLaren M7A under construction.
Or I could build the weird French car.
...and I still have an unfinished Corvair.

Is your McLaren the first or second Heller release or the Union kit that used Heller's mold but had better instructions, even though they were Japanese only. No I don't read Japanese, but the first issue Heller I built had pretty poor instructions, although better than the ones in the Brabham.
In reply to TurnerX19 :
It's the Union kit. Instructions are in French and subtitled in Japanese. I can't find the old European racecars I like in hobby shops or even online stores. You go to e-bay and get your credit card out. Get ready to pay stoooopid money for them plus shipping from another country, usually Japan, plus instructions are never in English.
In reply to Snowdoggie :
Yeah I looked for another Brabham. Yikes $$$$.
In reply to TurnerX19 :
How much? I would like to have one but I am afraid of the asking prices on that stuff.
Learn me My First Airbrush? Buddy got me back into RC cars after 25 years - lots has changed. I'm looking to paint my lexan Karmann Ghia. Also the hobby shop, pandemic, and this thread have pulled me back into model cars. Back in middle school, I used the hobby rattle cans and was much envious of my buddy's airbrush setup.
So, for model use (basic colors, maybe masked off stripes or two-tone, not looking to detail out patina/rust or camo), what am I looking for? Single / Double action? Siphon or gravity? Paasche / Badger / Iwata?
In reply to rkammerer :
You'll want dual action (the ability to adjust air and paint flow separately.) Gravity or siphon seems to be personal preference. I use a siphon fed Badger (forget the model) with a little harbor freight compressor, but any name brand will be just fine. Honestly though, don't discount Tamiya lacquer (TS series) in the spray can. I can get just as nice of a finish from them most of the time, and they're still my go to if they have the color I need, and I don't have to deal with the cleanup mess. I've used it more for Alclad finishes than anything else. And even then, the Testors metalizer in a spray can can produce really nice results.
In reply to rkammerer :
I am still using a single action badger from 1/2 century ago with good results. How you thin the paint is the critical part, and you can only learn each paint with trial & error! Snowdoggie is correct about Tamiya rattle cans. They are spectacularly good.
In reply to Snowdoggie :
Search Brabham on ebay toys& hobbies. Do it sitting down....I saw $250 as a low a few weeks ago.
In reply to TurnerX19 :
I paid less than half that for the 1/12 Tamaya Porsche 910 kit sitting on my shelf right now. I will probably not get the Lola T-70 to park next to it.
I've been using a Badger 200 for about 30 years and have been very happy with it. It takes patience and trial and error but does nice work.

Alright, finally got all my stuff from my parents house and set up and took inventory. Pics:
Future modeling area overrun by hot wheels.
Hot wheels packed up, bench cleaned.
Mustang, Tri 5 and Mopar dad and I built in the 80s/90s. A lot of mine weren't painted. I'll call these all barn finds. Any cleaning tips?
90s Chevy, old Ford.
Unpainted Impala and a teal 3000GT/Stealth.
Boat, rough Chevy pickup and a bigger scale Stealth.
SHO, S10 with the roof chopped, dragster chassis, frame off Ford, Porsche that we got incomplete and put a 350 in.
Stepside Chevy with no suspension and a poorly swapped in dragster engine.

Incomplete kits I currently have:
Untouched Hemi Cuda.
Painted and partially assembled 67 Mustang.
Painted and probably 3/4 assembled 60 Chevy.
Unpainted styrene cleans up well with isopropyl alcohol and Qtips. I wish I took some before & after shots, I just cleaned a couple of Merit racers that were on display uncovered in an auto repair shop from 1960 till 1972, then roughly stored til this past Sunday. Even some of the decals survived cleaning this way.
In reply to solfly :
Nice collection! You have plenty to rebuild, finish, and even just clean up. FYI that Cuda kit is pretty good and fairly valuable.
